YOUTH MINISTRY NEWSLETTER
Omaha Zoo!!!
As you know from weekly updates and bulletin announcements the past three weeks,
we have a trip to the Omaha Zoo on
Saturday, July 8. You should also know that sign ups ended last Friday;
however, if you’re still interested, contact Deacon Ken at the Youth Office
to see if there are any spots open.

Great Start!!! The Middle School has been excellent in turning out for activities this
summer. What’s really cool is that a number of folks have also been bringing friends. Your friends are always welcome to any events as long as they’re going
to be sixth, seventh, or eighth graders in the fall.
Just be sure they bring a permission form (attached).

For all events, we’ll leave from the Prayer Garden and return to the Prayer Garden. If cost is EVER an issue, just let Deacon Ken know upon arrival and we’ll get ya cov-ered!!! Friends are always welcome ! Per-mission forms are on the website, in the back of church, and with Deacon Ken on the day of each event.

When Jesus said to feed the hungry, he really meant it! Good disciples follow his call, and we’re doing just that
Tuesday, 7/18, by going to Harvesters to repackage food for food pantries
and soup kitchens. We’ll meet in the Prayer Garden at 6:00
and return at 8:45 after a stop at McDonald’s. (Bring a few dollars for food!)
Drivers needed! Contact Deacon Ken to volunteer.
Scavenger Hunt at Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art!!!
Sunday, 7/16, we’re going to get a little culture into our summer! Our Peer Ministers were aware of a simple scavenger hunt that takes
you all around the museum. We’re going to take it in as a leisurely (and FREE!)
way to enjoy an afternoon!
We’ll meet in the Prayer Garden at 2:00 and will return at 5:00. Bring a few dollars for a stop at McDonald’s on the way back.

Mission Trip Thank You!!!
Many, many thanks to our awesome youth who served on our Just5Days Mission Trip. You were joyful, hardworking, and cooperative in every way! You did St. Mark’s proud!

Improv Comedy at Comedy City!!! We’re heading to Comedy City in midtown Kansas City for a night of great improv comedy!
This is where two teams of comedians compete for your laughs—and you get to tell them what to use
in the skits and games they do! It’s a really funny night.
We’re going Saturday, 7/29.
We’ll meet in the Prayer Garden at 6:30 and will return at 9:45. Cost: $10.

Out to the Movies!!!
Sunday, 7/23, we’re heading out to Independence AMC or B & B in Lee’s Summit to take in a movie! At this point we don’t know what the move is, though it will be Middle School appropriate (G or PG).
We’ll meet in the Prayer Garden at 1:00 and return at 4:30. The cost should be under $10.
Bring cash for refreshments if you’d like. No reservations needed.
