Central Regional Development Coordinator Youth For Christ Canada The People Development Team works to Inspire, equip, and encourage youth missionaries for effective and sustainable ministry! The People Development Team works to Inspire, equip, and encourage youth missionaries for effective and sustainable ministry! The Central Regional Development Coordinator will act as the Regional Training Director (RTD) for Central Canada and is to be the regional contact and coordinator for YFC/YU matters associated with National training and development.

This position is 3 days a week (24 hours/week) and will be supervised by the Director of People Development.

Start date: June 1, 2017

Primary ResponsibilitiesAs part of the People Development Team the Central Regional Development Coordinator will:

CONNECTION AND CONTACTING1. The RTD is the developmental contact person for participants in the Credentialing

process; primarily a resource to participants and the region:a. Connecting personally (phone, email, Skype, Facebook, etc.).b. Helping/guiding with the necessary steps to completion of the Credentialing

process (off-site visit, pre-post retreat work) and fielding questions about Credentialing and the first two years in YFC/YU.

COORDINATION AND ADMINISTRATION1. The planning and delivery of the regional Credentialing training events (recruitment of

instructors if needed, budgeting, establishing dates, securing the location, promoting the event and planning for a learning event that is the best possible environment for participants).

2. The RTD will administrate:a. Budgets and financial records for the region.b. Initial assessments of new staff into the Credentialing process.c. The orientation of new staff to Credentialing.d. Records of participants through the completion of Credentialing.e. Commissioning meetings (chairing or appointing a national or regional

representative).f. Recommendations to national training office.

COLLABORATING 1. RTDs will collaborate in the ongoing development of the training process (content,

syllabi, delivery methods, evaluation, and innovation) including Summer Institute. Responsibilities to include:

a. Learning -becoming fully aware of the nature and content of the Credentialing process to be in a position to help and guide participants through pre and post retreat assignments and becoming aware of instructional trends related to the nature and process of Credentialing. In addition, the RTD will collaborate with necessary individuals to aid in the planning of regional events.

b. Facilitating- or teaching where and when this fits with the giftedness of the RTD and the context of the learning event.

c. Resourcing -includes both the participants and the region when needed.

COACHING1. Responsibilities to include:

a. Facilitating/teaching elements of coaching workshops.b. Promotion and communication of coaching initiatives.c. Assisting the linking of coaches with coaches in respective region.d. Assisting with the coordination of coaching workshops in respective region.e. Personally coaching two people to maintain skills of a coach.f. Participating in annual 360 evaluation of coaching performance.

SUMMER INSTITUTE1. Responsibilities to include:

a. Leading a small group.b. To be determined with the team leader.

MANUAL/ORIENTATION TOOLS DEVELOPMENT 1. Responsibilities to include:

a. Work together with training team to develop supervisor’s guidelines for intranet use.

b. Survey supervisors and training participants to determine needs/skills required of supervisors.

MEETINGS/EXPECTATIONS1. Responsibilities to include:

a. Meet with supervisor bi-weekly by Skype or in person.b. Participate in weekly people and chapter development meetings.c. Attend and participate in national staff meetings in December and June.

d. Attend and participate in monthly training team meetings.e. Participate in annual evaluation and adjustment of job description.

PARTNER DEVELOPMENT Personal partnership development – which includes securing and maintaining a sound

base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position.

SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT YFCC staff members are encouraged to spend time in spiritual reflection and

development and are encouraged to take annual spiritual retreats YFCC staff are encouraged to attend YFC Regional and National conferences YFCC staff are encouraged to attend relevant training and enrichment courses

TRAINING, DEVELOPMENT AND CONFERENCES Completion of the YFC Canada Credentialing process where necessary. Attend YFC Canada’s National Ministry Conference annually. Participate in training and development courses, conferences and workshops as

approved by supervisor.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational and communication skills, and has a passion for seeing Canada’s youth become lifelong followers of Jesus.

The successful candidate will: Have experience teaching Ideally have a background or degree in Education Be able to facilitate, encourage and coach staff in the credentialing process Be detail oriented in order to manage process and lead people Have a vibrant, mission-minded faith Demonstrate a strong theological /biblical understanding Be able to work on a virtual team Have excellent organizational and administrative abilities Be a self-starter and have a strong work ethic Possess strong written and verbal communication skills Practice work / family balance
