FINDING HER STRENGTH AND VOICE

World Vision “helps young people from high-risk neighborhoods in the U.S. to see their potential and change themselves and their communities,” says Vianeli Garcia, who knows firsthand the type of mentoring and encouragement taught in the Youth Empowerment Program.

Growing up in the foster care system in New York City, at one point Vianelli “didn’t think any good could come out of me.” But, she adds, “through hard work and encouragement, I soon found my strength and my voice.”

Join the Youth Empowerment Program Network in three steps:

The network provides multiple resources and support for organizations that are committed to improving

their work with vulnerable youth—and empowering them to make a difference in their community.

1. Apply for your organization to participate in a virtual learning community. You’ll join up to 14 other youth-focused organizations across the U.S. and gain insights from each other as you all take this journey. Go to www.worldvision.org/yepnetwork and click on the “Join” link.

2. Participate in the nine-month program and we’ll support you through the beginning-to-end process of curriculum implementation. You’ll receive coaching and training on everything from start-up to sustaining the impact. You’ll learn how to engage youth, deliver curriculum, build effective youth and adult partnerships, evaluate training, build resiliency in your youth, and more. You’ll also receive one-on-one support from a World Vision coach by phone and email.

3. Stay connected. After the nine-month program, your organization will continue to have access to World Vision’s Empowered for Change curriculum and the rest of our virtual resources. Technical support will also continue to be available along with the opportunity to stay connected to the expanding Youth Empowerment Network.

Cost: A one-time fee of $125
