Page 4: Your World In Stills

Anita and I have been married for over 7 years, and together for over 10. We were high school sweethearts that have more experience in love than we care to admit. We were raised in New York City, where our parents still live across the street from each other. 10 years later, we are southerners based out of Atlanta. Art has always held a very special place in both our hearts and exploded the day we discovered photography. We have been training with some of Atlanta’s best wedding photographers who also happen to be very good friends. They have encouraged us and helped us start this business and we are so very thankful for the support. In the end, our life long goal is to bring smiles and memories to people who are ready to take the ultimate step in love and live together forever in happiness.

ORN IN CHIGAGO, RAISED IN NEW YORK, I’ve always been drawn to fashion and the arts. While I received a degree in accounting, my love for fashion and all things pretty drew me towards photography. I’ve always been attracted to the

details and inner workings of things. I love to wrench around with my bike - oh by the way, I LOVE my motorcycles. My day is often spent taking care of a giant puppy (Newfoundland) who is all consuming, but the most passionate lover I’ve ever known. :) I’ve never met a more lovable dog.

BYWIS: What do you enjoy most about wedding photography?

YWIS: Tell us something that few people know about you.

YWIS: Do you have a favorite photo? If so why?

YWIS: What do you consider the most important part of the day?

Anita B: I love the details. I think all women do. I love the little things that tend to go unnoticed: the color of her lipstick, the eyelashes she chooses, the way her nails match the outfit. I love private moments like when she steps into that dress, the first time she looks in the mirror... Her shoes... [I] love shoes. What girl doesn’t like weddings? I get to enjoy all the little pretty things. I also get to see the love from the family, the joy from the friends and the fun of the party without having to get remarried.

Anita B: I have a passion for motorcycles. My hope is to race in the AMA cuircut one day.

Anita B: To me, the most important part of the wedding day is getting the right moments. When we do our slideshow at the wedding, the reaction from crowd always makes me feel like we are doing the right thing.

Anita B: I may have a favorite photo of the day, but I don’t think I have an all time favorite image. I take so many images in one day and I find a handful that I love. That changes from shoot to shoot. I am always finding new images that I adore.A

YWIS: Why choose Your World In Stills? YWIS: What is your favorite part of the wedding day?

Yarold B: It’s the service and personal attention that we give to our clients that makes us different from the rest. You are not just another customer, your happiness is geniunely important to us. We try to make your experience unique and fun.

Yarold B: My favorite part of the wedding isn’t the actual day, but more of the entire process. The best part for me is the satisfaction from the end result: sitting back, and seeing everything come to life through the photographs we take. Wedding photography is an addictive cocktail of hard work, stress, glamour, fun, and above all reward.

ORN IN SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA, RAISED IN NEW YORK, I was always the artsy kid. Not knowing at the time that I was being spoiled with access to some of the greatest museums in the world, I spent my childhood taking school trips to places like the MOMA, the

Guggenheim and MET. At the time it felt normal. This was just another way to get out of class. I was first introduced to a camera at New York’s High School of Art and Design where I processed black and white film by hand. It was extraordinary to see the process work and watch the pictures I took come to life. I’ve gotten to work with some of Atlanta’s best wedding photographers and I am passionate about what I do and I take pride in each image I present. I can spend hours on end, reviewing my work and providing my customers with only the most stunning results.

YWIS: What makes a good photographer in your opin-ion?

YWIS: Why wedding photography?

Yarold B: I’ve always loved every form of photography. It’s been a passion of mine for a large part of my life, but I never thought about making a career out of it. When I was introduced to wedding photography, and had the chance to do it for a living, I grabbed it. Photographing weddings is exhilarating! There’s never a dull moment, and each wedding is unique.

Yarold B: Honestly, personality and skill are what make a good photographer. Anyone can learn how to use camera settings, equipment and the technical details to photography. A good photographer has to have the ability to know where to be at exactly the right moment and translate their personality into their photography. This gives their photos a unique style that gives their photographs emotion and personality.

Our style is a mix of fashion and documentary photography. We strive towards capturing genuine moments and emotions and transferring that into a photo, and we make sure that our photos tell the story of your wedding day. If we can make a stranger look at a photograph and instantly see the moment as it happened, and to feel the emotion it depicts, then we’ve done our job. It’s not just about the cameras we have - it’s really about being able to make thoseemotions and moments of that day timeless. We also do formal, posed photography; we are very inspired by the high fashion world and it shows through our work. Whether it be a quiet moment or look, or a group or posed shot, we’ll be there making you look as amazing as you feel.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION

ngagement sessions are sooo much fun! You pick the date (the sooner the

better), and the location and we’ll meet you there. You’re welcome to use these photos for your “Save the Date” wedding web site or a signature book at the wedding. It makes for a great keepsake. Our engagement sessions are about an hour long. We will travel in the Atlanta area (and sometimes outside of it) If you need more time, or want more than one outfit change, we can do that too!

Way back in the days of pre-arranged marriages, when marriage was a business deal between fami-ies, brides and grooms were never allowed to see (or even meet!) each other before the wedding...

...this was so the groom wouldn’t have time to back out of the wedding if he happened to find the bride unattractive or unappeal-ing. Over the years, the tradition of the “bride in hiding” changed into the superstition that seeing each other before the wedding is “bad luck”. Nowadays though, this “tradition” is being kicked to the curb by modern, photo-lovin’ brides and grooms everywhere.

HOW IT WORKSThe bride and groom get ready separately, just like “normal.” When both are dressed and ready, we take the groom to a place with great light and get ready to snap away! The bride is sent in and the groom turns to see her as she’s walking up. At that moment, you’ll completely forget we’re there, but we’ll be capturing every smile, eve-ry tear, every laugh, and every kiss.

ECHTTOOLS OF THE TRADE FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

CANON 5D MARK II CANON 1D MARK III

Our main cameras are Canon’s 5D mark II. Both Anita and I carry one. Our preferred equipment is a full frame camera with image quality that is phenomenal. They are made for low light capture. This camera can shoot up to 6400 ISO (really low light) and still provide a relativity clean image. We almost never shoot at 6400 ISO but it is great to know that we can if we need to. Capable of video at 1080p HD, it is the go to camera for the professional that needs to push to the extreme. Paired with a pro level high quality lens, there is almost nothing this camera cannot handle.

The 1D series is aimed at the sports photographer that needs to capture movement in low light. The focusing system on this device is second to none and it can shoot at 10 frames per second, and re-meter and refocus after each frame. This makes it one the fastest cameras on the market. Known for its rugged exterior, this camera is made to withstand the elements. This is our back up camera and we also use it when we need a lot of consecutive frames like bouquet tosses or going away.

THE LENS

THE LIGHTS

Lenses are the heart and soul of photography. A good camera is a great start, but without an incredible lens, you’re cutting yourself short. We only use Canon’s “L” professional lens. They are made for professionals and are fast to focus, can take a beating and give you the best image results possible. In order to accomplish our photographic style,

we use mostly prime (fixed focal length) lens. We only own one zoom lens and it is the very best zoom that Canon offers. Each lens will give a distinctive look based on the aperture and the focal length. We know our lens inside and out. Without this knowledge, we cannot capture the images that we do.

Lens List

14mm f/2.8 L II24mm f/1.4 L II35mm f/1.4 L50mm f/1.2 L85mm f/1.2 L II100mm f/2.8 L macro135mm f/2.0 L70-200mm f/2.8 L II

Canon’s 24mm f/1.4 L II is my favorite lens. I like to get in close and low and at f/1.4 it is super fast and impressively sharp. The distortion on the edges are minimal and when used correctly, you never notice it. I like to get a lot of the background in some images and really get a feel for the location.

This lens gives me that. I find myself constantly looking for it when I am in with the bride and she is getting ready.

Canon’s 50mm f/1.2 L has to be my favorite lens. The lens is narrow enough to get in close and wide enough to take a few steps back and really get a great background. Canon only makes two lens that can shoot at f/1.2, this being one of them. A wide open aperture allows for a soft buttery bokeh (sharp subject with

blurry background). This lens it incredibly sharp even at f/1.2.

Lighting is imperative when it comes to photography. In fact, photography is ultimately painting with light. We use very portable kits that have enough power for any room small or large. Our flashes include Canon’s 580 Ex II and 430 Ex II. We rely on Pocket Wizard’s Flex TT5 and mini TT1 for our radio remote system. They are both capable of wireless TTL as well

as high-speed sync up to 1/8000th of a second. It’s consistent range and radio frequency make it the industry leader when it comes to wireless flash.

Page 20: Your World In Stills

uring the reception, we never take images of people eating. It is very awkward and just not fun for the people eating. Instead, we take this time to put together a slide show. Before the wedding we find a location where we can place a

27inch iMac, we collect the memory cards, and then start the editing process for images taken that day. So by the time you cut your cake, you and all your guests will be able to see about 30 images of your day. The iMac will sit at that location for the rest of your wedding playing the slide show of those moments captured earlier. We also make placement cards that your guest can take with them, and if they sign up on the website printed on the cards, they can see the images and even order prints for themselves or for you.

Making The Details Count!

Page 27: Your World In Stills

&AQ• How long will it take to get proofs of photos?Photos are delivered on a cd or usb drive within four to six weeks. This gives us time to edit all your images. Every image we give to you will be color and skin tone corrected. Usually, w e will post your images on an online gallery for you to be able to share with friends and family. On average, we deliver about sixty images an hour.

• What attire will you wear? Our goal is to blend in with your wedding guests who happen to carry a nice camera.

• We definitely want to book you? How do we get started?Awesome! We’re excited to work with you! To guarantee your booking, we ask for a signed contract that both parties agree upon and a non refundable retainer fee of $1000. Once all this is said and done, you’re officially booked, and nothing will keep us from your wedding day. We accept all legal and valid forms of payment: checks, major credit cards and cash.

• Can we make payments?Of course! You can pay in full up front if that’s easiest for you, but in fact, you won’t have to pay in full until after the wedding. We understand you have a ton of vendors to pay and want to make it as easy for you as possibly. We take a $1000 retainer fee up front, and 75% of the full balance is due 14 days prior to your wedding. The final balance is due thirty days after your wedding date.

• What info do I need to provide the photographer before the wedding day?

About two weeks before your wedding we contact you with a Q&A form. If you have a wedding coordinator, we’d also love to speak with them to hammer out the details before your date.

• Are you photographing other events on the same day?Never. We never book any other event on the same day; your wedding is important to us, and we make sure we have all the time you need available.

• How far in advance do I need to book?Typically we’d like to book you eight to twelve months ahead of time. This ensures the date you need is more readily available and you won’t be scrambling at the last minute in the midst of all your other planning.

• My venue requires insurance from my vendors, is that something YWIS has?

Yes! For both your safety and ours, we have full insurance that covers any accidents or mishaps that could possibly happen.

• I’ve chosen a wedding package but after the wedding I want to add something extra, can I make payments on that?

Absolutely! We understand better than most how much a wedding costs and we always try and be as flexible as possible when it comes to adding wedding books or more prints. We are always happy and willing to work within your budget.
