TakPAC’s PURPOSE

TakPAC offers eligible Takeda employees a way to join together to support the election of candidates, regardless of their political affiliation, who share our vision to drive innovation and ensure patient access.

Takeda strives on many levels to inform the U.S. public policymaking process about issues important to our work for patients.

TakPAC is Takeda’s political action committee — a fund used to help elect state and federal lawmakers who share our public policy positions related to phar-maceutical innovation, the needs of patients we serve, and matters important to our industry. This program is driven by the voluntary contributions of eligible Takeda employees and is the only legal way Takeda can provide direct support to federal and many state candidates.

TakPAC plays a crucial role in helping the Takeda Government and External Affairs (GEA) team to educate elected officials on issues affecting our prod-ucts and therapeutic areas. It is through TakPAC’s direct, bipartisan support of candidates that we can build and strengthen our relationships with lawmakers and impress upon them the important work the pharmaceutical industry accomplishes for patients worldwide.

The TakPAC Officers and Board of Advisors want you and all eligible Takeda employees to be fully informed about TakPAC’s mission to drive innovation and ensure patient access to our medicines. This annual report provides a full, transparent accounting of TakPAC’s financial performance. Our objective is to always be a good steward of employee donations, making sure you know who decides which candi-dates to support, why specific candidates received our support, and how much we contributed.

I encourage you to learn more about TakPAC at www.takedapac.com.

PUBLIC POLICIES IMPACT PATIENTS AND TAKEDA

Takeda’s U.S. Government and External Affairs (GEA) staff works to educate state and federal elected officials about issues affecting patients, our products and therapeutic areas, and our company. GEA also advocates for policies that reflect our patient-centric approach, and strives to be the voice for patients in public policy discussions on Capitol Hill and in state capitals across the country. Our elected leaders need to know how their decisions and policies will impact the health of patients in their district or state.

The GEA team is committed to providing information to all employees about the public policy issues that impact our company through the GEA pages on MyTakeda. We believe it is important for everyone at Takeda to understand the impact, positive and negative, that public policy decisions have on our company and the patients we serve.
