YOUR PERSONAL EYE SHADOW APPLICATION CHART - 3: You will use a highlighter and a deeper shade on your eyes. Highlighters are generally white or cream and shades there of. Eye shadows are usually neutral shades of browns and greys or colours if you are feeling

more adventurous.

Step 1: After concealing and powdering your eye area – apply highlighter under your eyebrow bone. By highlighting you enhance the bone, creating the illusion of lift. Step 2: Also highlight on your eye lid area. This will create the illusion of more lid space and it will open and freshen up your eyes.

Step 3: Now apply your eye shadow shade through the crease of your eyes. Make sure the shadow travels through your crease area and slightly above – so when your eyes are open the eye shadow ‘grows’ up and out of the crease area.

Here is a close up example of exactly where your highlighter and shading needs to be applied. If you would like to use more than one shade, make sure the darker of the two is used on the outside corner area of your application.

Although there is a distinct difference between the highlighter and the shading and they are both in very specific areas, note that they blend together gradually, leaving no hard unblended edges.

Below: Have a look at your eye shadow application from more of a distance. Can you see how the eye shadow extends past the eye into a slightly extended pattern on the outsides of the eye?

Below: When your eyes are open this is how your eye shadow should look. Notice how the eye shadow ‘grows’ up and out of the crease creating a ‘pushing back’ shaping illusion.

To complete the look you will need to use mascara. Eyeliner will also help to define your eyes – please refer to your eyeliner chart to see which eyeliner application is best suited to your eyes. Additional comments:
