ACTIVITY: DRAW YOUR MOBILE PHONE’S HOME SCREEN

Draw the home screen of your phone. At least the top 3-4

Apps you are presently using on a regular basis.

Consider the following:

• The location of your regularly used apps

• Any folders/widgets that you have

• Label your icons

Are You Truly Mobile?

Unlock the average smartphone, and you’ll probably find a predictable collection of apps on the home screen:

email, calendar, document sharing functionality, etc. Take a moment and think. Are you using these apps to

their full potential or are they just there for decorations? Have you taken the time to see what you can

accomplish with them and make your day to day work easier?

CUSTOMIZE YOUR GMAIL SETTINGS

1. In the top right, click Settings (gear icon) > Settings.

2. In the General tab, scroll down to Undo Send and select the dropdown next to undo send and choose the timing for undoing emails.

3. Scroll to Conversation View and select Conversation view on/off.

4. Scroll to Nudges and check the preferred options.

5. Scroll to Hover actions and select enable hover actions to see snooze controls.

6. At the bottom, click Save changes.

Note: If you turn off conversation view you will not have the ability to snooze emails if you have configured

your inbox to have a split screen.

OFFLINE ACCESS (CHROME BROWSER ONLY)

Use Gmail offline to read, respond to, and search your Gmail messages when you aren't connected to the Internet. Any email you write, archive, label, or delete while you're offline will be sent or moved when you’re back online. When you enable Gmail offline on a device, your messages sync with the browser's storage on the computer you're using. Enable Gmail offline on each device for which you want offline access.

1. In the top right, click Settings (gear icon) > Settings.

2. Go to the Offline tab and check the Enable offline mail box.

3. (Optional) Next to Sync settings, choose how many days of email you want to store offline.

4. Next to Security, choose whether to keep or remove offline data on your device. If you don’t see this option, it might be set by your G Suite administrator.

5. Click Save Changes.

Note: If you don't see the Offline option for your @Royallepage account, it might not be enabled. Contact our customer care department for any assistance.

CREATE LABELS

In other email programs, you might have stored email in folders. In Gmail, you use labels to categorize your

email. Labels are like folders, but with a twist—you can apply several labels to an email, then later find the

email by clicking any of its labels from the left panel.

1. Create a label:

1. In the top right, click Settings (gear icon) and select Settings.

2. Click the Labels tab.

3. Scroll to the Labels section and click Create new label.

4. Enter the label name and click Create .

You can also create nested labels, which are like subfolders.

2. Create a label from an email:

1. From an email, click Labels > Create new.

2. Enter the label name and click Create .

3. (Optional) Click Nest label under and choose an existing label to place it under.

The new label automatically applies to your email.

APPLY LABELS

1. Apply labels to email:

1. In your inbox, check the boxes next to the email you want to apply a label to.

2. Click Labels .

3. Check the boxes next to the labels you want to add and click Apply.

2. Add a colour to a label:

1. In the left panel, point to a label and click More (3 vertical dot icon).

2. Point to Label colour and choose a colour. Or, click Add custom colour.

The change instantly applies to all email with that label.

3. (Optional) To remove a label colour, point to Label colour and click Remove colour.

4. (Optional) To see all email with a particular label, in the left panel, click the label’s name.

1. In your inbox, check the boxes next to the email you want to move into a label.

2. Click Move to (move to folder icon)

3. Click the label you want to move your email to.

CREATE A FILTER

1. Open Gmail.

2. In the search box at the top, click the Down arrow .

3. Enter your search criteria. If you want to check that your search worked correctly, see what emails show up by clicking Search.

4. At the bottom of the search window, click Create filter.

5. Choose what you’d like the filter to do.

6. Click Create filter.

SNOOZE EMAIL

Note: Conversation view is required for snoozing

Postpone email to a future date or time that's more convenient for you.

1. Hover your mouse over an email.

2. On the right, click Snooze (clock icon)

3. Under Snooze until, choose a time.

The email automatically snoozes and moves out of your inbox.

4. (Optional) To see all snoozed email, click Snoozed in the left sidebar.

Your daily events and a mini monthly calendar appear.

See event details: Click an event to open it and see details.

Reply to an event: Open an event. At the bottom, next to Going? click a reply

INVITE OTHERS TO BOOK APPOINTMENTS

After you've set up appointment slots, you can invite people to book time.

To invite people to book appointments, don't invite them to the appointment slot. Instead, get a link to send them for your appointment slots page:

1. Open Google Calendar.

2. Click your appointment Edit event.

3. Click This calendar's appointment page. A new window will open.

4. Copy and paste the calendar's appointment page link from your browser.

5. Send this link to people who want to book an appointment.

Note: People need to use Gmail/Google Calendar to make a reservation. Consider using this functionality for

teams

SHARE YOUR CALENDAR

1. Choose whether to share your calendar publicly or only with Royal LePage: (Unless you purchased your own G Suite)

1. Click Settings (gear icon) > Settings.

2. On the left, select your calendar and then click Access permissions.

3. Select how you want to share your calendar:

o If you want your calendar to be available publicly on the web, check the Make available to public box.

o If you want your calendar to only be available to your organization, check the Make available for My Organization box.

4. Next to each sharing permission, click the Down arrow and choose whether you want to show your free and busy times.

2. Let someone see your calendar in a web browser:

You can get a HTML link to your calendar that you can share with people.

1. Click Settings (gear icon)> Settings.

2. On the left, select your calendar and then click Access permissions.

3. To send a shareable HTML link to people, click Get shareable link > Copy Link.

4. Paste and send the link.

3. Share your calendar with specific people and choose how much they can see:

When you share your calendar with someone, you can decide how they see your events and whether they can also make changes, such as adding or editing events.

1. Click Settings (gear icon) > Settings.

2. On the left, select your calendar and then click Share with specific people.

3. Click Add People and enter the email address or names of the people you want to share your calendar with.

4. Choose a sharing permission option:

o See only free/busy (hide details)

o See all event details

o Make changes to events

o Make changes and manage sharing

4. Share your calendar with people who don’t use Google Calendar:

1. In the Share with specific people section, click Add People.

2. Enter the email address or names of the people you want to share your calendar with.

3. Click Send.

4. If the person you’re sharing your calendar with doesn’t use Calendar, click Invite to send them an invitation to use it.

CREATE AN APPOINTMENT SLOT IN CALENDAR

1. Open Google Calendar and in your calendar grid, click an empty time slot and click Appointment slots.

2. Add a title and choose a date and time.

3. Select the duration of the appointment and the duration of each appointment slot.

4. Click Save.

SHARE A CALENDAR

1. On your computer, open Google Calendar. (You can't share calendars from the Google Calendar app).

2. On the left, find the "My calendars" section. You might need to click it to expand it.

3. Hover over the calendar you want to share, click More (3 vertical dots) Settings and sharing.

4. To share with individuals: Under "Share with specific people," add the person or the email address of the person you want to share with.

5. Click Add people.

6. Enter the names or email of the person(s) you wish to share with and select the sharing format from the

drop down, then click Send.

CREATE QUALITY CONTENT WHERE YOU STAND

The most important factor in creating video is to make sure it’s quality. Quality does not mean super high

definition video with superb editing, it’s the same with content. Define quality by how well it’s going to entertain

and inform your audience and how it’s going to position your brand.

Think of someone you can email right now, a quick sentence to thank them.

Write down who you’re going to email. Compose the message in your workbooks, or compose a draft email in

Gmail but don’t send it. You have 2 minutes.

By adding a picture to your profile, it will be part of your email

correspondence.

3. (Optional) After filling out your address, select

which Email platform you’d like to integrate

BombBomb with.

Note: Some features might not work as designed if

integrated with this 3rd party application. Canned

Response is presently not supported with Gmail.

To skip, click on Next at the bottom of the page.

4. If you do not see the Royal LePage templates on your email videos, make sure to Edit your profile by

clicking your profile picture at the top right. Indicate the industry (Real Estate) and company (Royal

LePage) to automatically get the templates.

5. To ensure your contact information is shown on your template, make sure to go fill out each of the tabs

under Your Profile. (Basic, Organization, Password, Social Media and Other)

Note: Do not forget to click on “Update my profile” at the bottom of the page.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE BOMBBOMB PHONE APP

Once you’ve registered (either directly on the Phone or on your Computer) here are a few things that are good

to know.

The App will always open to the chronological history of the emails you’ve

sent. BombBomb is also an email tracker that shows you who has opened

your email, viewed your videos or clicked on a link.

To start a new video, click on the RED record button found at the bottom of

your screen.

To access your video library, click on the button found to the right of

the Red record button.

In your video library you have 2 options:

1. Click on Upload to start recording a new video or access videos

stored on your phone.

2. Click on one of your old videos to send to a new recipient.

Once you’ve selected the

video you would like to use,

LIVE VIDEOS AND SOCIAL MEDIA (FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM)

Have engaging conversations with your followers

Live is the best way to interact with viewers in real time. Field their burning questions, hear what's on their

mind and check out their Live Reactions to gauge how your broadcast is going.

Tell fans when you're broadcasting ahead of time.

Build anticipation by letting your audience know when you'll be going live with a written post. We've found one

day's notice gives people the right amount of time to tune in.

Write a catchy description before going live.

A great description capture’s people's attention and helps them understand what your broadcast is about.

Ask viewers to subscribe to Live notifications.

Remind your audience that they can tap on the Follow button on live videos and videos that were live so that

they can get notifications the next time you go live. (Also true with Twitter and Instagram)

Say hello to commenters by name; respond to their comments live.

Your audience will be thrilled to hear you mention their name and answer their questions when you are live.

Broadcast for longer periods of time to reach more people.

The longer you broadcast, the more likely people are to discover and share your video with their friends on

Facebook twitter and Instagram. We recommend that you go live for at least 10 minutes, although you can stay

live for up to 90 minutes at a time.

WHAT TO CONSIDER BEFORE STARTING YOUR LIVE VIDEO

1) Introduce yourself.

2) Tell viewers what to expect.

3) Interact with the viewers. Ask/answer questions and call them by their names.

4) Include a clear call to action. For example, (join me on Facebook Live) or reference your Facebook

page.

5) Tell your viewers when you’re ready to take your final 2 questions.

LEVERAGE FACEBOOK TO GET IN FRONT OF PEOPLE

A great way to get in front of people is using the power of social media and get them to engage with posts or

ads. Ads are one way to get some extra traction, but a nicely done organic post can also have some success.

Facebook has multitudes of apps that a beneficial for that business person on the go.

Note: These new creative tools allow you to create and edit ad images directly from the Ads Manager app,

saving time and effort. The creative tools include:

3. Choose a template to display images. You have a vast selection to choose from. On the top of the screen, you will see the image you selected with various designs. Swipe right to see more. Click on the design you wish to use and click “Apply” (top right of screen) Note: The screen is the same on iPhone.

4. You can also apply without a template. Options to add logos to your picture will appear at the bottom of the screen. You can cancel, go back to previous image, add lettering or pick a different image with the options found at the top. You also have the opportunity to play with the size of the image by using your fingers to resize. Once you’re done, you can click on “Apply”.

Add extras by clicking on the “element” icon. Three options are presented. The happy face offers you designs that can be changed by clicking on them. The flag will allow you to incorporate a picture from your FB business page and the last option allows you to incorporate shapes. Try it.

To remove an item from

5. Once you are done with your post/ad, it will give you these options. Select “Create Post”

6. Your FB App will then open, allowing you to finalize you post like any other time. Try it.

will let you know if there is too

much text on the image before

posting it as an ad. Try it.

want to undo, simply click on

POSTING AN AD WHILE BEING AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER

It might happen that you are with a potential seller and while meeting in a coffee shop, or at their place you’d

like to quickly get an ad running to showcase that One Yard Line we discussed earlier. The app has certain

limitations, however you can always duplicate and be more purposeful with it once you get to your personal

computer.

Once you click on Create ad, you will have numerous ad options to select

from. Think about the goal of the ad you are posting. Don’t worry, if you

decide to make a change, you will have access to pause, duplicate and

start with a new one.
