FROM THE PRESIDENT It is hard to believe but half of the year has gone by already. It has been tough on the planned car runs but, after a second try the club was able to make it to Tel Hai. Several cars made it and they served us a nice lunch! The bad weather didn’t faze 22 of our members for the June meeting and one brave sole even brought his old car. The fire house lost power momentarily but they have a backup generator so we had lights. There were more than enough deserts to go around and everyone seemed to have had a good time eating and talking. Thank you all who brought the goodies to the meeting. The July meeting will be the annual ice cream social and usually has a great turnout. As an added attraction, we will have a guest speaker to talk (15 minutes) about options for healthcare, Medicare and the like. I am sure many of us would like to know what is going on with Obama care and what options are out there for us. As a reminder for Board members, there will be no executive meetings in July and August but will resume in September. I hope everyone had a good July 4th. Looking forward to seeing you for the July club meeting.

Fred Gaines, President CCACC

COVER CAR - 1972 LINCOLN MARK IV

This is our 1972 Lincoln Mk IV. This car was originally sold in Adel, Iowa. It has travelled only 67,000 miles. The paint is mostly original save a repair to the right rear quarter panel at one point. It is finished in a fairly rare color of Pastel Lime with a completely original dark green cloth interior. These Lincoln MK IV's came with a host of standard equipment including Climate Control, Cruise Control, as well as power steering, brakes, windows, seats, and antenna. This car also has the optional Auto Dimming Headlamps and Am Stereo Radio with 8 Track Player. We have enjoyed driving the Lincoln to a number of shows locally including Hershey last October where it received the HPOF Award. By far our most memorable trip was when we entered our Lincoln in the Hemmings Concours d'Elegance held in Saratoga Springs, N. Y. last September winning first place in the preservation class! The picture shows Gay in line for the award. We were also quite proud when MC and host, Ed Lucas, chose our Lincoln to ride back from the rally and luncheon held at beautiful Lake George. Apparently Ed has owned several of the MK's over the years! You probably know Ed as he does the commentary for many of the big auctions including Barrett Jackson. We drove the Lincoln to and from Saratoga Springs and it performed beautifully. We look forward to attending many shows with it again this year. If you have not had the chance to attend this Concours event it is well worth the trip! As spectacular as the automobiles are, I'm sure you will marvel at the beautiful Saratoga Spa State Park and Automobile Museum. The event this year will be held on September 25th through the 27th.

Wayne and Gay Davison

APOLOGY I apologize for the photo’s in the June newsletter as the original was good, and of course those on electronic were excellent in color, but when Staples reproduced the mailing copies, somehow they got too dark. Check out our newsletters on our website, www,chescoacc.com. and see them in color. Natalie Gomez

SPRINGTON MANOR ICE CREAM FESTIVAL

Springton Manor is having its Ice Cream Festival on July 26th from 1-3 PM. They would like to have old cars on display. The mansion and the barn are open for tours, and – of course – there is ice cream. Some of us went last year and it was quite enjoyable. They provided a separate lot for Antique Car parking near the mansion. Lou Mandich

TEL HAI RUN On Thursday, July 2, 2015, members and friends went to Tai Hai in Honey Brook for a car show overlooking the lake. It was a cloudy day with a few drizzles but went anyway after a rain out which was previously scheduled. Many of the residents admired our cars and it always brings so many memories as they all remember the cars they once drove. We had one misfortune, Don & Ellie’s Plymouth decided it did not want to attend and broke down on Rte. 322 right at a shop, which was convenient, Being it was going to take a little time to figure the problem, the mechanic was nice enough to drive Don & Ellie to Tel Hai to enjoy the day with us, We had a delicious lunch, and a fun time chatting and telling so many stories. Should have had a picture, top down, looking like rain,

however, I put Don & Bob in the back seat and Ellie in the front seat and am sure she suffered convertible hair (tough to comb) when we arrived home. Thanks to those that attended – Jack & Joyce Wright, Chet Whiting, Chuck Walker, Fred & Pat Gaines, Bob & Dawyn Hayes, Bob & Natalie Gomez & Don & Ellie Welsh. R/L Jack & Joyce Wright .

SPRING DUST OFF RUN This year a return trip was made to Doylestown to visit the 5 story Mercer Museum of Americana collections from the late 19th and early 20th century. We started the cruise day by meeting at Bull Dog Rod & Custom’s shop in Exton where folks had a tour of the shop, saw a custom motorcycle and several cars, and had some refreshments. It was a light turnout with nice weather but the forecast had been for showers. Bob Hall stopped at Bull Dog but did not join the group going to the Mercer Museum. Hugh and Shelagh Purnell lead Tom Aukzemas and Bill & Carolyn Gale along back roads of Chester and Montgomery counties for a nice spring ride. Jeanie Casssidy of Chester County Antique Car Club and a friend rode along with Hugh and Shelagh. Once in Doylestown the group met up with Dennis Rimmer and Jack & Cheryl Pearson who live nearby. Since the museum has a rather extensive collection to view, the group decided to have lunch first at M.O.M’s, a craft brewery. After a good meal and a few brews it was time to tour the museum. It is all poured concrete designed by Henry Mercer -who was not an engineer or architect. I guess he did OK because it is still standing. Among the collections were a genuine Conestoga wagon and a whale boat complete with harpoons and the apparatus to render the blubber. Tom found an interesting collection of locks and hinges. Previously, we had visited Mercer's home, also made of concrete - and his tile factory. Thanks to those who came out. Hope I didn't miss anyone. Hugh

STARGAZER’S VINEYARD CAR SHOW – JULY 5TH Celebrated with family July 4th and now what to do on Sunday. Jack & Joyce suggested going to the 10rth Annual Vintages in the Vineyard benefiting the charity Neimann Pick Disease. We would have never found this place, but Jack knows every back road in Chester County. It is a small Vineyard, they had wine tasting and you could buy a bottle and $1.00 went to Neiman Pick Disease. I was totally surprised at all the cars, a lot of Rods and other cars we had not seen. To our surprise, club members Bob & Isla Mae Allison and Jack & Sue Steczak found this show too. After the show we enjoyed steak sandwiches at Joey’s in Thorndale. Natalie Gomez

MALVERN MEMORIAL DAY PARADE Well, it was touch and go for a while, as far as the rain goes, but Mother Nature finally smiled on us and allowed the parade to go on without a drop. I'm sure ole Lou Recchilongo had something to do with it also. I would like to thank all those who participated in the parade, and especially thank you to Sonny Sciarretta for sharing his car with the Recchilongo family. I would also like to thank Ann Recchilongo and her family for their hospitality. The refreshments were great and the perfect ending to a perfect afternoon. Club members participating in the parade were Jo Ann and Howard Arnold, Jeanie Cassidy, Natalie Gomez, Walt Kramer, Bob and Linda Patton, Hugh and Shelagh Purnell, Jack Rawson, Jack Robinson, Sonny Sciarretta, Kevin Stevenson, Jack and Lola Stretch, Russ Swallow and Hopeann Hug, Bud and Lisa Tarr, Chuck Walker, and Jack and Joyce Wright. VISIT TO THE NATIONAL IRON AND STEEL HERITAGE MUSEUM

On Saturday, June 13th, club members friends enjoyed an informative and interesting tour through the National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum in Coatesville. The tour guides led us through the steel plants beginnings in 1810 to the present day. We toured the historic Graystone Mansion, Terracina Mansion, the fire department for Lukens Steel and the Steelworkers’ Memorial which had one of the World Trade Center trees as the focus. Those attending were Jack and Connie Walker, Charlie Brosius, Natalie Gomez, Bud and Lisa Tarr, Lou Mandich, John Lawrence, Jeanie Cassidy, Larry Kline, Jack Wright, Judy and Jim Fleetwood and Lew Pyle and his sister, Mildred Cunningham. RL Jean Cassidy

FROM THE HISTORIAN Here are three photos of what is believed to be a cruise of some type with Dave McCurdy's Maxwell, which must have broken down along the way. Maybe someone can identify folks in the pictures or the location.
