Your International Career Adventure INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES AT UCHICAGO UChicago partners with employers around the world to provide internships, career "treks," networking events, and other substantive opportunities ranging from two-day explorations to lifelong careers. The University provides personalized support for each student to help them identify experiences that align with their interests and goals. Internships. UChicago’s Jeff Metcalf Internship Program provides paid, substantive internships in more than 50 countries and 95 cities outside of the U.S. each year. Funding for Career and Research Experiences. In addition to internships with current UChicago employer partners, the University also provides grants to support students who have secured unpaid opportunities with other organizations. These grants have supported experiences across a wide range of countries including Brazil, Cambodia, China, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Jordan, Rwanda, and Spain. Career Treks. UChicago partners with organizations throughout the world to host students for career "treks," which are a two- to three-day series of immersion visits with different employers. Previous international career trek destinations include Beijing, Dubai, Helsinki, Hong Kong, London, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Seoul, and Tokyo. International Recruiting Forums. These “speed-networking” events help students meet many employers in just one day. UChicago holds recruiting forums in several cities around the world, including Hong Kong, Lyon, and Shenzhen. Wanxiang Ambassador Fellows Program. Organized in partnership with the Wanxiang Corporation, the program brings students for a six-week immersion experience in Hangzhou, China on Chinese language, culture, and clean technology initiatives. Global Health Scholars Program. In partnership with the Center for Global Health at UChicago, the program provides global health internships, research opportunities, and career programming, including a global health career trek to Africa. POST-COLLEGE OUTCOMES: YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS After four years of substantive academic and career experiences, UChicago students apply their education to a highly diverse range of opportunities after graduation. These include working with leading employers worldwide, continuing their studies at some of the world’s most respected graduate and professional schools, starting their own businesses, and serving the greater good with organizations such as the Peace Corps and Teach for America. 96 % 96% of recent graduates have substantive post-college plans. 40 + Recent graduates are working and studying in 40+ countries across 6 continents. 400 + Each year, the graduating class secures opportunities with 400+ different organizations worldwide. 10% On average, 10% of students work or attend graduate school abroad after graduation.
