Breakfast We Irish are rightly famous for the full-Irish, a meal that celebrates much of our best indigenous ingredients; from bacon, to eggs to rich black pudding.

But there is clearly more to breakfast than a fry up. And more to Irish ingredients than bacon. We are good at oats (the granola is pretty fine), soda bread is something of an institution here at GUINNESS STOREHOUSE and we are rather proud of our scones (if you’d like the recipe just give us a shout).

Everyone’s idea of breakfast is different. No other dining occasion is approached in quite the same way. Which makes it something of a unique challenge. Light, healthy, substantial, token? We try to offer a variety to suit these various moods.

Please choose from one of the following options. Tea (both herbal and Irish breakfast tea) and coffee comes as standard (if you’d like decaffeinated we would be happy to arrange, just let us know).

Blaas

The Waterford Blaa is a traditional light, white floury bap which is ideal for a breakfast sandwich. These are served with the usual condiments like ketchup and sauces. You can choose one sort, or a selection but please bear in mind that if you opt for the latter we will make up a proportion of each choice so not everyone may get their preferred choice. We normally allow for one Blaa per person.

CanapésCanapés, finger food, one-bite, snack, morsel, call them what you will the idea is to have a lot of colour and taste contained in a mouth-sized bite. By sourcing the best Irish ingredients and utilising light cooking techniques we are always aiming for a burst of flavour, giving you a surprise of the best kind.

Canapés lend themselves to mixing and matching perhaps more than any other menu. A chance to go global, stay local or savour the world’s greatest stout in the GUINNESS section.

How many to choose is always a moot point, but we can guide you. Can’t find what you are looking for? The world of canapés is a big one and our team are always keen to innovate. Give us a theme, an idea, a hint of the kind of thing you are looking for and we can come back with ideas, suggestions and ultimately, creations.

Snack bowlsA snack, bite, nibble means so many different things. In the Far East for example, street food, snacking, is so much more part of the culture than it is in Europe.

We like to snack, but here at GUINNESS STOREHOUSE we are rather particularly about our snacks. Our mantra of fresh, seasonal Irish food underpins our snacks as with everything else. This can make things a little tricky when it comes to the likes of chickpeas in hummus, hardly an Irish crop, but we’re sure you get the picture. Where we can we will, like in the brandade of cod, or in the smoked salmon.

These bowls are geared to communal eating, so there is something of a sharing sentiment.

All rates quoted subject to VAT

AVAILABLE FOR PRE DINNER DRINKS RECEPTIONS

Boxes & Bowls One-pot dining, or nabemono in Japanese (nabe meaning pot, mono being one), enables you to eat something substantial, but without the need to sit down or get involved in using a knife.

Bite-sized? They certainly are in that you’ve no need to cut anything up. We’ve created these dishes to be visually appealing, easy to eat and full of flavour and freshness.

How much to order? As a rule we suggest four boxes or bowls, up to a maximum of six per person on the basis you are here for the evening and want your guests to feel they have had a proper meal. If you choose cold dishes they tend to be more like salads, lighter, easy and perhaps not quite so filling.

In order to ensure a balanced choice on the evening and to make sure we can get the timings right please choose one vegetarian option and one cold option as a minimum.

Plated LunchLunch at GUINNESS STOREHOUSE brings a real sense of occasion, a special place in the heart of the city, somewhere that brings the history of a great brewing tradition alive.

Our lunch menus draw on this history, with the GUINNESS menu perhaps being the most closely aligned with the building and combining with the best of Irish produce. The menu picks up on the tradition of Irish food and subtly ties in with GUINNESS and its worldwide reputation and ability to complement many differing cuisines.

LUNCH COSTS €31.00 IF CHOSEN FROM THE DISHES BELOW. A BESPOKE MENU CAN BE CREATED FOR YOU AND WILL BE COSTED ACCORDINGLY.

Working LunchesWe know that lunches can’t always be a celebration, when it needs to fit in around other things, when it needs to play a supporting role and enable concentration, be a stimulus and aid creativity. While convenience is an important aspect of working lunches it does not have to mean the sacrifice of quality. Our focus on good Irish ingredients, light and appropriate cooking, and lots of health and vitality in each dish are still key.

Our sandwiches use a mix of Waterford baps, known as a blaa and a selection of fresh baker’s bread. This traditional course will always have their place, but we understand there is an increasing move towards the lighter eating inherent in salads (which also come with bread and soup). But don’t worry, if you can’t quite decide? We can always do a combination so there is choice on the day.

If you go for the salad option all salads are presented on the day. If choosing blaas, you can either opt for specific sandwiches or we will provide a selection.

The names? Our lunches are named after some of the barges that used to carry GUINNESS down the Liffey to be loaded on to larger boats.

Taste of IrelandWhat foods are we famous for? Beef certainly, seafood and maybe soda bread. But then there is lamb, the best coming from the west coast where it is washed by the Atlantic winds. We do a pretty fine strawberry during the summer from Wexford and raspberries soon follow. We may be keen on cabbage (we are), but there are plenty of other fantastic Irish-grown vegetables in the shape of cauliflower and broccoli, spinach and carrots. While we might struggle with peppers and tomatoes, we excel at the potato and like nothing more than a little smoke with our salmon.

These dishes are a celebration of modern Ireland, a country that has always been close to the land and sea and takes pride in good, honest food.

Baker’s basket of bread and tea/coffee is included.

Taste of Dublin

Molly Malone famously cried for cockles and mussels but the city has a rich tradition of food (and drink!) going back centuries. We are rather fond of our Dublin Bay prawns (langoustines) although none of them actually come from Dublin Bay anymore. Still, we enjoy them along with salmon in its many forms, beef and lamb, chicken and turkey. Like any country the capital contains the best quality and quantity and we aim to capitalise on this. What better partner to all this excess than a glass of GUINNESS, a drink that goes as well with seafood as beef.
