IN THE COMMUNITYBALTIMORE IMPROV GROUP

"The year was 1989. I was commissioned by Eddie’s of Roland Park to illustrate for an ad campaign highlighting actual employees. Visiting the store several times, I took photographs for reference and then put pencil to paper, illustrating the series of slice-of-life moments shared between staff and shoppers. The times may have changed but, 30 years later, Eddie’s has not. They still have the same recipe for success… fantastic employees who care about customer experience!" – Linda Cedrone, local artist

Soak wooden skewers for at least 15 minutes before threading to prevent burning on the grill. For tastiest results (meaning nothing is burned or overcooked), make your kabobs with items that cook at the same rate—say, shrimp and cherry tomatoes (fast) or chicken, onions, and oranges (slow).

BEEF, PORK, AND POULTRYHEAT: Direct (uncovered), medium-high.TIME: 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally. For best results, cut meat into 1- to 1½-inch cubes.

SHRIMP AND SCALLOPSHEAT: Direct (uncovered), high.TIME: 1 to 2 minutes per side.

VEGETABLESHEAT: Direct (uncovered), medium-high.TIME: 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally. For best results, cut vegetables into 1- to 1½-inch cubes.
