ECC Newsletter Summer 2014-15

Enfield Community Centre will be revamped next year from the beginning of February to the end of May.

The Centre will undergo extensive renovations next year to give it a much needed lift and improved public safety. One of the things to go will be our front door, which is still sturdy and strong, but is a little outdated and is very heavy to open. This will be replaced with a fantastic self-opening sliding door, incorporating more glass to give added light in the foyer.

Other improvements will be a kitchenette near the creche, much painting, replacement carpets, replacement Stadium floor & skylights and asbestos removal. We are sure you will like it when you return in June.

The Centre will continue to focus on servicing the needs of the local community by primarily catering for regular groups that benefit people living in the Enfield / Clearview / Sefton Park area.

Staff Change for

Enfield Community Centre

To go with the updated Centre there will be an updated Coordinator and this will be my last year at Enfield Community Centre.

In Jan 2015 I will be moving to Hillcrest Community Centre and Liz Haar, who is now the Coordinator there, will be coming to Enfield Community Centre.

I have enjoyed many years here and will miss everybody. I have found the people who hire the Centre to be very friendly and generally look after the Centre with respect. I will especially miss all my Volunteers who have given many hours of selfless toil (sometimes under duress) to keep the Centre running smoothly and keep me sane (or insane depending on your perspective). The Centre has a lot to offer people as it is well located on a main road with very useable facilities. It is also situated within pleasant park surroundings.

Liz is a lovely person and will give you the same friendly and helpful service that I hope I have been able to provide. She is very experience at running Community Centres and I’m sure that you will find her a delight to work with. Please give her your support when she arrives.
