VISIT THE BEACHGuarded beaches with bathhouses and concession stands are located at Delaware Seashore’s Tower Ocean day area, the north and south day areas at the Indian River Inlet, and at Fenwick Island State Park. Lifeguards are on duty daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Memorial Day through Labor Day.

TAKE A HIKEPrickly Pear Trail: 3.5 miles of forest and meadow, located at Fresh Pond.

Burton Island Trail: 1.5-mile loop through the marshes and maritime forest of Burton Island. Located behind the Indian River Marina.

Sea Hawk Trail: 1.1-mile trail that meanders through forest, meadow, and marsh at Holts Landing State Park.

Thompson Island Trail: 0.7 mile (1.4 round-trip) trail at Thompson Island Preserve, through forest and marsh toward the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal.

SPEND TIME ON THE WATERLaunch from New Road or Savages Ditch to explore the bays. Kayak, paddleboard, and sailboat rentals are available at Fenwick Island State Park. Charter Boats are available at Indian River Marina.

DELAWARE SEASHORE STATE PARK FAMILY CAMPGROUND RULES AND REGULATIONS

CHECK-IN TIME: 1 P.M. CHECK-OUT TIME: 12 NOON

Property and Environmental Damage: Any intentional actions resulting in damage to property or the environment will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Campfires: Campfires are prohibited in the campground. You may cook using charcoal or gas in closed containers. Community campfires are held, weather permitting. Please contact a camp host regarding schedule.

Pets: Pets are welcome in the campground. It is important for pet owners to show proper consideration for other campers and comply with the park regulations. Pets must not be left unattended at the site, in a vehicle, or in a camping unit. A leash, not to exceed 6 feet, is required when walking or tethering a pet. Pet owners are required to clean up and dispose of animal feces in proper trash receptacles. In accordance with state law, pets are not permitted on nature trails or swimming beaches, or in shower houses or public buildings. Failure to comply with these regulations or to keep proper control of a pet may result in the camper’s eviction from the campground without a refund. Ask the campground registrar for a copy of our Pets on the Beach brochure.

Cancellation Policy: Any change or cancellation made to your reservation 31 days or more in advance of your arrival date will result in a $10 cancellation fee. One night’s camping fee will be charged for any changes or cancellations made 30 days or less in advance of your arrival date. A refund will not be given if the request for a refund is made more than 24 hours after your designated check-in time.

Camp Store

Located on the west side of the South Campground, the camp store carries a limited selection of groceries, snack foods, camping supplies, souvenirs and ice.

Come by for a cup of coffee, relax, and catch up on what’s happening around the park!

Laundry

For your convenience, laundry facilities are adjacent to the bathrooms in both campgrounds.

Washing machines are $1.50 per load.Dryers are $1 for 45 minutes.

Quarters only, PLEASE!

Change and detergent are available at the camp store.

Delayed Arrivals: Reserved sites are held until checkout time the day following the scheduled arrival date before being cancelled. Notify the park office in advance to avoid cancellation.

Minimum Stay: One-night minimum stays are required Sunday through Thursday. Two-night minimum stays are required on weekends.

Maximum Stay: 14 nights per 21-day period per park.

Maximum Units Per Site: Campers may have one recreational vehicle with factory installed hookups and one tent, or two tents with a maximum of 300 square feet of floor space.

Accessible Sites: These sites may only be used by campers with a disability and campers’ guests. If no other campsites are available, campers without a disability may use vacant accessible sites.

Visitors: Visitors are welcome in the campgrounds between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Visitors must pay the daily park entrance fee.

Vehicles: One vehicle may park at each campsite. Boats, trailers, equipment trucks, or other commercial vehicles are not permitted at campsites. Additonal vehicles and trailers are required to park in designated areas assigned at check-in.

Generators: Generators are strictly prohibited in the non-hookup family campground area.

Smoking: Delaware State Parks are smoke-free. There is no smoking in bathhouses, park buildings, playgrounds, boardwalks, concession or anyplace people gather.

Alcohol: Keg beer, party balls or beer balls are prohibited.

Trash: Dumpsters are provided for trash disposal. Please do not leave your trash on the site.

RVs: RVs must be parked in the designated direction, so that your lot number is on the left of your vehicle.

Quiet Hours: 10 p.m. - 7 a.m. Quiet time is strictly enforced.

Wastewater: A dump station is provided for the disposal of dish or bath water, septic, or other waste matter. Dumping of such matter on the grounds is prohibited.

Motorized Vehicles: No motorized vehicles or conveyances are permitted in the campground unless they are duly registered and licensed to operate on public highways. This would include motorized golf carts, motorized scooters, ATVs or go-carts. Motorized personal mobility devices that have been prescribed by a doctor are permitted.
