NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

Fr. Steve’s Pastor’s Note will resume next week……

BAPTISM CLASS

Parents and godparents must attend a class prior to a celebration of baptism. The next class is scheduled for March 21 at 6:30pm in the Ave Maria Building.

Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary St. John Paul II explains how discovering this devotion was a turning point for him: “During the Second World War, while I was employed as a factory worker, I came to be attracted to Marian devotion. At first, it seemed to me that I should distance myself a bit from the Marian devotion of my childhood, in order to focus more on Christ. Thanks to St. Louis de Montfort, I came to understand that true devotion to the Mother of God is actually Christocentric, indeed, it is very profoundly rooted in the Mystery of the Blessed Trinity, and the mysteries of the Incarnation and Redemption”. (Crossing the Threshold of Hope, 1994) Pick up a packet, which includes the book and instructions, at the Parish Office.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES RESOURCES

Catholic Charities of Central Texas provides low cost, high quality legal representation in immigration matters for their clients. Consultations are available to determine types of relief that may be available to you or your loved ones. For more information on Immigration Legal Services or to confirm the current consultation schedule, call 512.651.6100 (Austin Office) or 979.822.9340 (Brazos Valley Office).

PARISH FESTIVAL AND PICNIC UPDATE

COUNTDOWN FROM MARCH 13 28 DAYS

How can you maximize your involvement, contribution, and FUN! at the Parish Festival? Festival volunteers are needed! Signup sheets are at the back of the church this weekend. Adult volunteers are needed at game booths. We will also be looking for help serving in food lines. If you are highly energetic and have a keen eye, please consider helping us out with the auction operations. We have built a great team of volunteers who are working vigorously on Festival preparations. Many hands make light work. We need you on our team! Please see a committee member at the back of church and sign up for an hour or two.

SCHOOL TRUST FUND

St. Mary’s Catholic School Trust fund board wants you to know…The Memorial Bricks Have Arrived!!! They were placed by the Blessed Virgin Statue in front of the Parish Hall this Saturday – they are on the “West” side of the statue if you want to go looking for your particular ones. Thank you again for supporting the school by honoring a relative or friend. Thank you from the Trust Fund Board.

VOCATIONS CHALICE

Our primary vocation is holiness, to

become a saint. But there is a secondary

vocation to which we are all called:

Holy Matrimony, Holy Orders, Religious

Life, Generous Single Life in Christ.

Prayer: Father, you call each one of us by name

and ask us to follow you. Bless our church by

raising up dedicated and generous leaders from

our families and friends who will serve your

people as Priest, Sisters and Brothers. Inspire us as

we grow to know you and open our hearts to hear

your call. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please sign up for a week with the Vocations

Chalice to pray for the fostering of increased

vocations. Sign up on the list at mass or call the

Parish office.
