GOOD THINGS HAPPEN AT PAEC!

Cecilia M. Ndegwa, CNA Scholarship WinnerI am so humbled and grateful to have been awarded the CNAscholarship. It’s given me a head start in realizing my goal of becoming an RN. Working to support my family meant it wouldhave taken me a long time to save enough money for therequired classes along with uniforms, shoes and other equipment.

Everyone here at PAEC is always ready to help. My teachers, nurses Katrina and Candy, are my angels. They have given me hope and the confidence to face the doubts I have had about reaching my ultimate goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. My family and I will be forever grateful to PAEC for choosing me to receive the 2018 Winter Chevrolet/Honda CNA Scholarship...a very special gift that will enable me to make a difference in the lives of others.n

Monika Thorson, Medical Billing & CodingFirst and foremost, I’d like to express my sincere appreciationto Winter Chevrolet and Honda for their generous contributionto PAEC for Allied Health students.

Working in retail, I became very discouraged about my ability to support myself and mydaughter. Standing on my feet day after day became difficult. It was obvious that a sit-down career was the solution. Medical coding was my choice so when I saw that amuch-needed scholarship was being offered, I immediately applied. Thank you...thankyou for giving me this opportunity!

I’m so impressed with the teachers and staff at the school; students represent many ethnic and age groups and my teachers, Gretchen and Ana, couldn’t be better.n

HiSET and GED are two alternate ways that adults can obtain a high school equivalency credential. Each exam allows students to demonstrate the same academic knowledge andskills as a high school graduate. The HiSET and GED both test individuals on their knowl-edge of math, science, social studies and language arts. However, the HiSET has separatedlanguage arts into two sections (one for reading and one for writing). In addition, the HiSEToffers paper or computer based tests whereas the GED offers only a computer based test.

Distance Learning: This options allows students to use an online program to access HSE test preparation material. Students schedule weekly appointments with the HSE instructor to review homework and receive additional instruction. (Limited Seats Available)

This option allows students to work in individual or group setting with computer-assisted learning and a certified teacher.
