Our story

We believe everyone is naturally generous. All over the world, people give when they can. Our founders — Zarine Kharas and Anne-Marie Huby — pictured a world where giving was easier, more enjoyable and inspiring. In 2001 they founded JustGiving and started to make it happen.

First came the online fundraising page: a radically easy way for fundraisers to share their stories, raise money and transfer it to their chosen charity.

It was revolutionary. We were the world’s first online fundraising business, making donations simpler and safer for everyone. And we’re proud to say we’ve been growing the world of giving ever since: innovating with charities, companies and developers; investing our fees in world-class technology; and helping raise over £1 billion for thousands of charities.

We’re creating a future where donating is so inspiring that it becomes part of everyday life. Where giving is a given.

We’d love you to join us.

“100% brilliant service. I’ve been really impressed throughout: it is easy to use and makes fundraising so much easier. I love all the different ways that people can donate too, for example on Facebook. I wouldn’t have raised half as much without JustGiving!” Hol Langley Fundraiser

How it works

Keeping up with the latest technologycan be too costly for many charities. We want every charity, no matter itssize, to have the very best supportand fundraising tools.

On JustGiving, your supporters can make online fundraising pages to raise money for your cause. They can tell their story using words, pictures and videos. Then they can share their page with friends by email or social networks like Facebook, and ask them to donate money.

And your charity can receive donations directly from your supporters too. Once you join JustGiving, anyone can give online or make a text donation to your charity using our super-secure technology.

We make it easy for your supporters to donate. We give them the very best tools and support, whether they give by credit card, Direct Debit, PayPal or text message.

We send the donations to your charity securely by seamless bank transfer. So whether your supporters are sponsoring a friend or sending you a donation directly, no one has to lift a finger.

We reclaim Gift Aid automatically on every single eligible donation - so your charity doesn’t miss out.

Charities pay us £15 a month (plus VAT) and a fee of between 5% and 2% on each donation. In return, we help you raise more money by giving you the best tools, built with world-class technology.

JustGiving.com is the most-visited site in the UK charity giving sector. We’re able to process record numbers of donations at a moment’s notice because of the millions of pounds we’re investing.

Our innovative tools make it even easier for people to support the causes they care about — on Facebook, mobile or on justgiving.com — wherever they are. That’s why more charities in the UK recommend JustGiving than any other online fundraising service.

Why work with JustGiving?

You can trust us with your fundraising because we’re experts in giving

We are the number one fundraising site in the UK. All of our tools are built with insights from more than a decade of online giving. So you can be sure that you and your supporters are in safe hands.

You’ll be helping your supporters raise more

Our range of tools allows your supporters to fundraise in a way that suits them. You can be confident you’re giving them the best experience — they can make a fundraising page in a few clicks, and can contact our support team any day of the week.

We make the latest online giving trends work for you

Your supporters can view pages on their mobile, raise money in memory of a loved one, and fundraise with colleagues. We were the first to enable people to donate without leaving Facebook. And our constant investment means there’s plenty more to come.

Efficient There’s no need to chase cash donations and Gift Aid, or spend time processing payments manually.

In Memory pages

In Memory pages provide a simple and sensitive way for your supporters to fundraise online to remember a loved one. And when someone makes an In Memory page, a Collection page is automatically created. It brings together all the fundraising happening in memory of one person, and acts as a lasting legacy.

P Supportive Our friendly team is specially trained in supporting In Memory fundraisers and donors. If your supporters have any questions, they can contact us seven days a week.

P Trusted You don’t have to spend your charity’s time and money creating your own solution. It’s already here, on a secure site that your supporters find easy to use and trust.

P InsightfulWhether your supporters are collecting funeral donations or running a marathon, it’s easy to identify and connect all their fundraising activity.

“It’s extremely important to Marie Curie Cancer Care that our In Memory fundraisers and donors are offered sensitive, first-class supporter care. It’s great to know that JustGiving’s supporter care team is available seven days a week.” Dan Carter Individual giving manager Marie Curie Cancer Care

Events

Public events, such as concerts and football matches, provide a great opportunity to promote your text code and encourage spontaneous donations.

Holy Trinity Brompton used JustTextGiving at a concert held at the O2 to celebrate Pentecost. They promoted their text code PENT11 on the big screens and raised over £7,000 in a single night.

Radio

Anne Marie Millar, regional charity manager at Cash for Kids Scotland says: “We’re using JustTextGiving for our Cash for Kids appeal to help us raise money for a new Teenage Cancer Unit.

“We’ve been promoting our text code TEEN27 on the radio, as well as on flyers, in fundraising packs and on Facebook. We are over the moon to have raised nearly £5,000!”

Specific appeals

If you’re fundraising for an urgent appeal, particularly one that’s in the news, text giving is a great way to offer people the chance to respond instantly.

The Disasters Emergencies Committee received over £7,000 of text donations to their East Africa appeal on JustGiving.

Social media

Use Facebook, Twitter and other networks to promote your code. It’s a really simple call to action and people can easily spread the word.

Laurier Nicas, digital marketing officer at Dogs Trust, says: “Through our FUNdraising Weekend appeal, we raised £1,500 from text donations from just a few Facebook posts per day.”
