Questors – George and Pat Gilland Our discussion centered on women in context of Making Sense of the Bible.” We considered the place of women during the culture and context of Biblical times and contrasted the role of women in context of current times. We are reminded of the importance of working for equality. - Linda Alexander Inquirers – Bryant Quinn We completed chapter one of “The Fear of the Other” by Will Willimon. We will continue chapter two, “The Other, My Enemy”. Come join us! One Room Sunday School - Tim & Pam Bolin We learned that patience is a fruit of the spirit. Most of us have to have patience with our dogs.

The American Cancer Society has sent us

an up-to-date figure on what our Centenary Team collected in donations for the Relay for Life event that took place on April 22, 2016. Our team collected $4,029.00 and donations are still being accepted. That is awesome!!

This was our first year to have a Centenary Relay for Life Team and it was a tremendous success. We had wonderful people on our team who volunteered their time, their talents, and their monetary support.

However, we couldn’t have done it without our Centenary family. You supported us in every way you could. So many of us have been touched by cancer that all we had to do was mention that it was for the American Cancer Society and you reached for your wallet or check book. Thank you so much from each and every member of our fantastic Centenary team!

We hope you will consider being a part of our team next year by walking in the relay, helping with donations, or praying for a cure for this dreaded disease. Thank you again for generous support.

Nancy Cothren and Brenda Towe Relay for Life Team Captains

Hey, could we have a few volunteers to

stay and help clean up?

You are invited to a very special celebration to honor…YOU!

Sunday, July 31 after worship, we will have a special meal hosted by the UMM, and we are showing our

appreciation for all those who provide education & discipleship for

our children, youth, and adults. Please plan to join us for lunch to

celebrate the wonderful folks who help Centenary make disciples—

YOU!

Dear Centenary Family, Thank you so much for the generous scholarship! It will help so much with the living expenses of college. Thank you also for always supporting and encouraging me. It means a lot that I have such a loving church family. Thanks again for everything! Kayelin Fant

If you have been feeling disheartened with the tragic events reported seemingly nightly on the news, you may be wondering what could bring good to the world. Here's your chance! We have been invited to take part in a city-wide time of prayer for our schools. There are two ways you can be involved. The first is by signing up for a time slot in our 24 hour prayer vigil August 3-4. Pam Bolin & Kim Muller will have a sign-up sheet with half hour long time slots available on Sunday. The sign up will also be available on our website. The second way to make a difference is by meeting at a local school to pray. Since we have been ministering to the Lincoln Elementary community, we will meet at Lincoln at 6 pm on Wednesday night, August 3. We will take part in a brief time of prayer on the grounds of the school, lifting up the students, staff, teachers, and administration. Please join us as we make a difference in our community with the power of prayer! - Pastor Cydni
