Differences Between Co-ops and Internships

• Co-ops tend to be a full-time or part-time job worked during the academic year

• Internships tend to be associated with summer employment

• However, often these terms can be used interchangeably

• Please search for both opportunities – don’t narrow search to one or the other!

Errors on your Resume to Avoid!

1. Inconsistent format

2. Too much/not enough white space

3. Spell check important!

4. Not utilizing action verbs

5. Didn’t proofread

6. Don’t include your social security number

7. Don’t include personal information such as citizenship, age, race, religion, gender, marital status, etc….

8. References can go on a separate document

9. Don’t use first person pronouns
