Arbor House Happenings
This holiday season was my best one
yet being here at Arbor House. I was
so blessed to see joy on the faces of
all of our residents and their families.
We have worked hard to make sure
they are getting everything they
need and most things they want
from our amazing kitchen team. I
have added a few more members to
the team this year, so we are looking
at making some exciting menu changes in the coming months. I
am still looking for ideas and suggestions from residents
and
families that will continue to help our kitchen team elevate
the
dining experience for all who choose to enjoy our meal
times.
February might be the shortest month of the year, but it's
chock-full of beloved national holidays from Groundhog Day
(February 2) to Valentines Day (February 14). For February we
will
focus on just a few such as, National Tater Tot Day,
National
Fettuccine Alfredo Day, National Tortellini Day and National
Clam
Chowder Day.
The kitchen team is looking forward to having a bang up
year and enhancing every meal with the love and respect we
have
for our Arbor House Family.

It’s always interesting to join our monthly book review with
Jane Allen from Waco Literary Club.

Note from the DON, Kristi Burger
Most of our residents are under the impression that the legal
documents they had in
place honored their wishes. The confusing part of Advanced
Directives is that on the
Living Will or Directive to Physicians it states your wishes.
This form is legally
acceptable in a hospital setting, if you do not wish to have CPR
administered.
Unfortunately, anywhere outside of the hospital including Arbor
House, the State of
Texas requires a different form. The form required to not have
CPR administered is
called “Out Of Hospital Do Not Resuscitate (OOH-DNR) Order.” By
signing this form
you still get any medical treatment you wish to pursue. This
form simply stops CPR
from being administered if someone’s heart were to stop in their
sleep or suddenly.
This form can also be revoked at any time you wish. Arbor House
would like to make
sure you have the correct legal documents in place so that your
wishes are upheld. If
you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact
me.
