Eugene O’Neill’s warmest, most delightful play is an authentic portrait of a Connecticut childhood - complete with moonlit beaches, fi recrackers, booze and a powerfully dark undertow.

Over Independence Day weekend, teenager Richard Miller navigates young love in his idyllic home town.

A staple in the US but rarely seen in the UK, O’Neill’s prelude to A Long Day’s Journey into Night is an essential part of the life’s work of this most innovative of American playwrights. Rory Kinnear stars in this classic, timeless tale of ordinary terror by Franz Kafka. Josef K’s thirtieth birthday begins with a knock on his door from two sinister agents. They’re from an unidentifi ed agency, here to arrest him for unidentifi ed crimes.

But this is no birthday prank - this is life or death.

So begins K’s dark descent into a waking nightmare of bizarre humiliations and compulsive procedures.

The Olivier Award-winning Kinnear (Hamlet, Skyfall) leads the cast of this new production, directed by Richard Jones and designed by Miriam Buether in a new adaptation by Nick Gill.Direction RICHARD JONES With RORY KINNEARDesign MIRIAM BUETHERCostumes NICKY GILLIBRANDLight MIMI JORDAN SHERINSound & Music DAVID SAWERCasting JULIA HORAN CDG

“ I drank three glasses of scotch and ginger ale before we’d even cleared Coney Island. I didn’t want to come home. It was then that I decided to write you these letters.”

On a crisp winter day in New York, Willem gets the call. It’s Mum. Pauli’s died. Come back to Amsterdam.

An unforgettable homecoming to an estranged family, a lost love, unsettling sex and an unexamined life.

Ivo van Hove returns to the Young Vic following his sensational A View from the Bridge with this new play by Olivier Award-winner Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, A Doll’s House).

Romola Garai plays Isabella as Joe Hill-Gibbins tackles Shakespeare’s dark comedy in his peerless and audacious style.

Whorehouses and nunneries, betrothals and beheadings – welcome to Vienna! When the puritanical Angelo condemns Claudio to death, the undercover Duke of Vienna turns to bed tricks and head tricks to see justice done.

With this wickedly dark exploration of gender and justice, Joe Hill-Gibbins follows his hit Young Vic production of The Changeling.Direction JOE HILL-GIBBINS With ROMOLA GARAIDramaturg ZOË SVENDSEN Design MIRIAM BUETHER Costumes NICKY GILLIBRANDLight JAMES FARNCOMBESound PAUL ARDITTICasting AMY BALL

“Stars, hide your fi res, let not light see my black and deep desires.”

Following their acclaimed collaboration on Medea at the National Theatre, Carrie Cracknell and Lucy Guerin create a new version of Shakespeare’s supernatural tragedy.

When the prophecy of three witches proclaims that Macbeth is destined to become the King of Scotland, he and Lady Macbeth embark upon a murderous journey of power, treachery, paranoia, betrayal and suicide.

Beginning with Shakespeare’s text, the powerful and unsettling choreography weaves its way throughout the story, culminating in an unforgettable fi nal act where words falter and fi nally give way.

Bernard thought he was an only child. At the age of 35 he learns the shocking truth: he is just one of a number of clones. He and his father both confront epic questions of identity, intimacy and belonging.

Caryl Churchill pushes the boundaries of science and ethics with an astonishing twist on the dynamics of the father/son relationship.

Played by real-life father and son John and Lex Shrapnel, A Number is directed by Michael Longhurst with design by Tom Scutt.

In a hotel lobby, a couple meet to fi nalise their divorce, both on the verge of a new marriage. As they share sweet memories and dark revelations, the music of their conversation conjures the ghost of the passionate relationship they lost.
