Farmer’s group Independente gathered at their meeting site to sell the first vines produced from their rapid multiplication plot. The idea is to train 1-2 farmer’s groups per area to become consistent suppliers of planting material in lieu of depending strictly on project managed sites.

Note how this research plot in Mexixine is thriving compared to the plot in Posto Campo, due to much more favorable moisture and soil conditions.

Note that they created small depressions around the vine to retain moisture due to the poor rains in Catale during the month prior to planting. The group selected a site in the zona baixa which is characterized by high residual soil moisture content.
