Far from being simplistically rescued by a well-meaning

white saviour, these “lost boys”, played with brio by gifted Sudanese actors, become the heroes of their own lives. Philippe Falardeau (Monsieur Lazhar) sensitively captures humour in the clash of cultures, alongside heartbreak and hope in the challenges of life in the West.

Join us each month for an exclusive daytime screening and home-cooked food. 84 year-old Jean Hill is a concerned citizen on a crusade to take down a multi-billion dollar industry. In her bid to ban the sale of bottled water in her town, Jean hopes to raise awareness for plastic pollution in our oceans. Her riveting story is a test of individuals’ ability to effect profound social change and an insightful portrait of small-town America.
