Dear WCHS Student and Family:
Enclosed in this packet you will find information about the exciting summer SPORT opportunities at Whittier Christian High. These summer programs will give you a great chance to get to know the coaches and get ready for the upcoming year. We have a great group of coaches who love the Lord and who love to help their athletes grow in the sport and as young Christians. Please check out the various fliers and look for instructions for signing up. It is possible for you to be involved in multiple sports at WCHS! If you have further questions, please feel free to contact the coach or me at (562) 694-3803 ext. 300. You will also find a “Medical Release” form enclosed in this mailing. This form MUST be completed by the parents AND the doctor in order for you to participate in the summer and/or during the school year. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD OR COURT WITHOUT THIS FORM, SO YOU WILL WANT TO GET TO THE DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY (TO GET THE PHYSICAL EXAMINATION) AND TURN IT IN! The Medical Release can be brought on the first day of your summer camp OR it can be turned in to the School or Athletic Office OR you can download it online when you do your online Athletic Clearance. *SEE THE ATHLETICCLEARANCE.COM INSTRUCTIONS ALSO INCLUDED IN THIS PACKET. If you mail in your Medical Release, please make sure to write “Attention Athletic Department” on the envelope. YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO GO ONLINE TO ATHLETICCLEARANCE.COM to get your students cleared to play. At least one parent/guardian will do this WITH the student. Online Clearance. Easy as 1-2-3...1. VISIT www.athleticclearance.com
2. REVIEW the tutorial video for a quick
reference instructional guide.
3. CREATE an account. Click the “register”
link to start an account. Provide a valid email
address & password.
Note: It’s important that you include a valid email address because email verification is required prior to registration.
4. Once you create an account you will have
to VERIFY your account by reviewing your
email and clicking on the link.
If the email is not in your inbox, make sure
you check your junk or spam folder. After you
click on the link, you will be able to start the
clearance process.
5. Now LOGIN at www.athleticclearancecom
using the username & password you created
via the instructions above.
6. SELECT the “New Clearance” button (upper
left corner) to get started.
7. COMPLETE any required fields for student information, educational history, medical
history and consent.
8. PRESS submit and you have now
completed the entire registration process.
9. All of this data will be electronically filed with your school athletic department for
review. An email will be sent to you upon
approval of your students forms.
-PHYSICALS-
When completing the online clearance
process, you may scan & upload your
completed physical or download & print.
- If you upload a physical, it will be attached
to your son or daughter’s profile for review.
- If you download a physical, you can
still complete the clearance process, but
you will need to remember to walk-in
your documents to your school athletic
department.
-TRANSFER STUDENTS-
Each CIF section requires special forms
when a student is transferring from one
school to another. Make sure you are
adhering to all of the eligibility and transfer
rules. The online athletic clearance process
may not be the only forms you are required
to complete.
-SESSION EXPIRATION-
If you are using a public computer or leave
your browser session open, make sure you
(a.) save all of your work and (b.) log out
to protect your information. The athletic
clearance system will automatically expire
and log you out of the system, if your
session is idle.
-OTHER SPORTS-
Once you complete registration, you can
reload all of your data without having to
enter it again, thus saving time.

SUMMER PROGRAM AND TRYOUT INFORMATION: Our summer program and tryouts are combined in one. Our summer camp will run from July 2 - July 26, 2018. All players and team will be practicing or competing in summer league games 5 days a week. Exact times TBD. All dates and times of camp workouts are, or will be, available at heraldathletics.com. All athletes wanting to make a team for the 2018 season MUST attend summer practices and games. Varsity and Junior Varsity teams are highly competitive and require players wanting to earn a spot on one of those teams to be present and committed. In addition, due to the early start date, teams will be preparing to start the season on August 6, 2018. Therefore, attendance is a high consideration!
All incoming Freshman athletes and parents must contact Coach Todd Morrison for additional details and awareness about the summer program. Communication is important.
All transfer athletes wishing to play volleyball need to contact our Athletic Director, Rol Esslinger, to ensure eligibility. All athletes must be cleared to participate and must have a current/valid medical release on file with online clearance information completed and verified. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Beginning June 11th, for six weeks this summer the WCHS golf program will offer numerous low-cost opportunities to help you begin, or continue your golf career at Whittier Christian High School. Freshman players and parents will have an opportunity to meet with coaches and current golf parents in early June.
All participants must have a completed physical done before practice or participation.
