You too can learn to fly fish!
Fly fishing can be a rewarding, year-round sport that
can be enjoyed by the entire family. The Dame Juliana
League’s Learn to Fly Fish Course is intended to get
you started in the sport. You will learn all the basic skills and with a little more practice and
time, you can become a skilled fly fisherman. The course is a great value and will provide
you with all the information and instruction that other, more expensive courses provide. All
of the instructors have been teaching the course for many years and are experienced,
seasoned fly fisherman. Casting is taught by an FFI Certified Casting Instructor. The
course is limited to 40 students and advance registration is required. All equipment is
provided and a PA fishing license is not required. If you have a fly rod and reel, feel free to
bring it along and plan to join us for a fun-filled day. Send in this registration form now as
the course fills up fast!
Who is the Dame Juliana League?
The Dame Juliana League Fly Fishers was founded in 1971 and is
dedicated to educating our membership in the art and science of fly
fishing and to provide better opportunities to pursue our sport. Our
home waters are those of nearby French Creek, in beautiful northern
Chester County. Our organization considers our aquatic resources to
be of prime importance and actively works towards the preservation and improvement of
the habitat of the streams we fish most often. The League is an affiliate member club of Fly
Fishers International (FFI), headquartered in Bozeman, Montana and their Chesapeake
Council. We meet on the last Monday of each month from September through April.
Whether you are just learning to fly fish or are an experienced veteran, our programs are
interesting and fun. All our meetings are open to the public so be sure to visit our website at
www.djlflyfishers.org for more information on the League and this course!
