Josh: Look, Abby can I please talk to you…

Abby: Leave me alone Josh.

Josh: I’ve been trying to talk to you about this thing for weeks now… I’m

sorry.

Abby: Shut up and leave me alone.

Josh: It was an accident, I wasn’t thinking.

Abby: An accident?? You call cheating on me with Jocelyn an “accident”??

Josh: Well, not exactly, but kinda….

Abby: Whatever…

She turns back around and walks off.

Josh: Abby!!!

4th Period-AP Lang

Julie: So, five days…

Michael: Saturday…

Julie: The big day!!!

Michael: Yeah I know, I can’t believe our wedding is almost here.

Julie: It seemed like you proposed to me years ago.

Michael: I know what you mean. I’m glad you final came around.

Julie: Yeah, me too.

They kiss.

Julie: So… let’s run down the list, we’ve sent out invitations, we’ve booked

the church, Gabby Laxamana is throwing a small reception at her house

afterwards for us, free of charge.

Michael: I think we’ve done everything… Except for one thing…

Julie: Oh no…

Michael: I know we’ve been putting it off for a long time but we have to do

it before the wedding.

Julie: Are you sure?? Can we please just wait until after the wedding??

Michael: No. We have to do it before. We can’t go through this without

them. We have to tell our parents.

They both sigh.

After School

Jeannie: Hey Rene.

Rene: Hey Jeannie what’s up??

Jeannie: Oh nothing much… It’s just been on my mind a lot but… I just

need to say this… Diandre isn’t good enough for you.

Rene: What??

Jeannie: Remember how she acted during Homecoming a few months

ago?? She was just so mean to me…

Rene: Well, you were mean to her.Jeannie: That’s beside the point…

Rene: No I think that has everything to do with it. If you never played so

dirty she wouldn’t have had to stoop to your level… But I thought you and

Diandre patched things up??

Jeannie: Not quite…

Rene: Well, of course I don’t appreciate with what she did, but she was

never like that with me.

Jeannie: Not yet…

Rene: Look Jeannie, I think you should go. I really don’t appreciate youtrying to tear us apart.

Jeannie: I’m not trying to tear you two apart!! I’m just trying to show you

who the real Diandre is.

Rene: Whatever Jeannie….

He walks off.



Jeannie: The truth will be revealed Rene!! Trust me!!

Julie’s House

Julie: Mom?? Dad?? Can Michael and I talk to you for a second??

Mom: Make it quick honey I’m in the middle of cooking dinner.

Julie: Well… okay then I’ll just say it…

Dad: Say what?? Is this going to cost me anything??

Julie: Well… no not really we’re paying for it ourselves.

Dad: Paying for what yourselves??

Julie: Can you just let me say it dad…??? Okay…. Mom, Dad, Michael and

I are getting married.

Julie’s Mom drops the pot she was holding on the floor.

Dad: MARRIED??

Julie: Like I said we’re paying for it all ourselves, of course that means the

wedding’s not going to be very large but you don’t have to pay anything.

Dad: You’re right we’re not paying for anything and that’s because you’re

not getting married to that boy. I bet this was all his idea wasn’t it??

Julie: Well yes Dad but I want to get married to Michael. I love him and he

loves me.

Dad: You’ve barely been together for a year, you don’t know what love is at

this age!!

Julie: Yes I do!!

Dad: You’re barely 16!!

Mom: Julie… I believe I speak for me and your father when I say that we

feel that have been very tolerant with you lately, you know, with you getting

pregnant with Billiam and letting you keep him, and especially with

Michael. Don’t get me wrong Michael you’re a great boy. You always care

for Julie and Billiam.

Dad: But you’re not getting married, end of story.

Julie: Dad, we’re getting married. We didn’t tell you for your consent,everything is all set up, the ceremony is on Saturday.

Dad: THIS SATURDAY?!?!?

Julie: Yeah, I’m legally old enough to make this decision for myself so,

we’re getting married.

Dad: Okay…. I get it… I get it then…. You’re getting married?? Then

you’re getting out of my house!!



Julie: What??

Dad: You’re old enough to make your own decisions, so you must be old

enough to go find your own place to live and raise a family.

Julie: Dad… please no…

Dad: You have five minutes to grab whatever you’re taking with you. After

that time is up I’m calling the police.

Julie: But I’m part of the family!!

Dad: You have your own family now don’t you??

Julie: Mom??

Julie’s mom turns back to her cooking. Julie runs upstairs to gather her things. She comes back down three minutes later.

Julie: Let’s go Michael.

The two of them walk out the door. Julie walks out first, Michael hangs back and turns

back to Julie’s parents.

Michael: You… are horrible people.

He shuts the door.

Next Day-5th Period Switch

Emma: Uhhh… Hey James.James: Hey. You need something??

Emma: Well, I was just wondering if you were going to Julie and Michael’s

wedding on Saturday??

James: Eh… I might… I haven’t really thought about it.

Emma: Well, do you wanna go? With me??

James: Wait… as a date??

Emma: Yeah, maybe… like, it doesn’t have to be awkward.

James: Oh uhm…well. I don’t know… I’m not sure. I’ll talk to you later

about it okay??Emma: Okay…

James: See ya.

He walks off.



After School-Michael’s House

Michael: Mom??

Mom: Yes honey??

Michael: Uhh… uhm… We have something to tell you…

Mom: What is it??

Michael: You wanna tell her??

Julie: Sure…

Mom: Tell me what??

Julie: We’re getting married.

Mom: Married??

Michael: Yea…

Mom: You two… married??

Julie: Yes…

Mom: Wow. Okay, umm… are you sure you’re willing to make thiscommitment?? Marriage is… forever. Or… well, it’s supposed to be.

Michael: Yeah mom, we feel that we’re ready.

Mom: And you do know that this house is only here if you are mine, right?

Michael: What do you mean??

Mom: Michael… if you’re getting married, you can’t live here anymore.

Michael: I don’t understand this… what is it?? Is it some kind of unwritten

rule that when you get married you HAVE to move out??

Mom: Why would you say that??

Michael: Because Julie’s parents kicked her out too.

Mom: What??

Julie: Yeah. All my stuff is in my two backpacks.

Michael: I was going to ask if she could stay here for a while…

Mom: Michael…

His mom sighs.

Mom: Okay, let me explain this to you, when you two tell us parents you’re

getting married, it says to us you’re ready to act like adults and be

independent. If you’re going to be independent on this, we’re going to makeyou independent on everything, which means moving out and living on your

own.

Michael: But you can’t expect us to live on our own can you??

Mom: I didn’t expect you to get married.

Michael sighs.



Mom: But, I’ll be fair. When are you two planning to get married??

Julie: Saturday.

Mom: Saturday?!?!? How long have you been keeping this from me??

Michael: Since June…

Mom: June…?!? Okay… Julie, you’re welcome to stay here with us. But I

expect both of you to go out and find jobs.

Michael: Why?? I barely have enough time for homework!!

Mom: Oh don’t think I’m letting you stay here!! I’m still making you two

move out, but I’m just giving you time to get on your feet.

Julie: How long do we have??

Mom: One month after the wedding. Just one.

Julie: I really appreciate you letting us both stay, me and Billiam.

Mom: Well, I couldn’t let my son, his fiancé, and his baby step-son go live

out on the streets.Michael: Thanks mom. I… I’m sorry about all of this.

Mom: Oh don’t say sorry to me. I’m not too angry about all of this, it’s just

a lot to take in. And I’m not punishing you, I’m just treating you how you’re

going to be treated for the rest of your life;…

Saturday-The Wedding

James walks in to the church. Emma waves to him and James sits down next to her.

Emma: I see you decide to come.

James: Well, that’s kinda what I wanted to talk to you about…

Julie: I can’t believe it’s finally time… I’ve been waiting for this for so

long, it just seemed like it would never come, and now that it’s here it justfeels like a dream…

Gabby Laxamana: You ready Julie??

Julie: Yeah, I’m ready.

Julie turns the corner and walks down the aisle to Michael.



Officiant: Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to join Julie

Houchens and Michael Baeder in holy matrimony, which is commended…

James: Can this not be a date??

Emma: Oh… why not??

James: Cause, honestly, this whole thing is really, really weird for me. First

we were friends, then we were “friends with benefits” and then I became

your baby’s daddy, and now, it seems like dating would be going all the way

back to square one, and I don’t know if I can handle doing all of this

jumping around out of order.

Emma: Oh… I understand I guess. I mean, I’m really sorry I put you into

this whole situation, but, when I found out that you were the father, I was so

happy at first cause, for a split second, I thought that we’d be spending the

rest of our lives together raising a child, and then I remembered that you saidyou wanted to put it up for adoption. That’s completely fine with me, I

understand that too, it’s just, what I was looking forward to, wasn’t

necessarily having the baby, but it was being with you. I really like you

James and it just sucks that it took me this long to figure it out…

James: Wow… I’m sorry Emma, but after all of this, I don’t think I can like

you as a girlfriend. I’ve played so many other roles that were completely

emotionally unattached that I don’t know if I can actually be your boyfriend

at this point. Like I said, I’m really sorry.

Emma: Ouch…

James: I thought you said you understood.

Emma: No… I think I’m having contractions…

James: That would explain the puddle on my shoes… Oh my god you’re

having our baby!!!

Emma: Calm down!! This is Julie and Michael’s day. Let’s just calmly get

up and… ow… oww…. Oww……..

James: Okay, let’s stand up…

He helps her up and they slowly walk out.

Pastor: And now is the time for the exchanging of the vows.

Julie: I, Julie Houchens, take you, Michael Baeder, to be my lawfully

wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or

worse, in sickness and in health, to laugh with and to love, from this day

forward until death do us part.



Michael: I, Michael Baeder, take you, Julie Houchens, to be my lawfully

wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or worse,

in sickness and in health, to care for and to cherish, from this day forward

until death do us part.

Pastor: You may now kiss the bride.

The organ begins to play, they kiss, and everyone applauds.

After they kiss, they walk back down the aisle together.

Later-Hospital

Nurse #1: Okay, honey, push, push!!

Emma: AGHAGHHAGHGHGHGH!!!James: It’s gonna be okay Emma. Everything’s gonna be fine.

Doctor: The baby’s crowning!!

Nurse #2: Okay, you’re almost there, just a few more pushes. Push, push,

push.

Emma: AAAAAAAAGHGHHGGHHHAHGHAGHGHAHGGHGH!!!!!!!

The baby starts crying.

Doctor: There, we go… It’s a girl!!!

James: You hear that Emma?? It’s a baby girl…Emma: Can I hold her once, before you take her…??

The doctor hands Emma the baby.

Emma: Wow…

James: Yeah… wow…

Wedding Reception

Julie and Michael sneak away from the party to a bedroom upstairs.

Julie: Wow…

Michael: Yeah… wow…

Julie: We’re… married.

Michael: Finally.



They laugh and lay down on the bed together.

Michael: You know we’ve got a lot of hard times coming up ahead.

Julie: Yeah…

Michael: We gotta find jobs, find our own place, make a living, all on our

own…

Julie: No.

Michael: Huh?

Julie: No. We’re not doing this all on our own.

Michael: We’re not??

Julie: No. We’re doing it…



Jeannie: This Semester, is all about me.

Marco: Getting what I want.

Rhiannon: Doing what I need.

Michael: To keep everything running smoothly.

Diandre: Because if I don’t stay in control.Josh: This is it for me…
