It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the Open Montréal 2020 Taekwondo which will take place at the Claude-Robillard Center, on March

28, 2020.

I am looking forward to promote, through this initiative, the development of the practice of

Olympic Taekwondo.

I welcome all athletes and the general public. I warmly thank the officials present, the loyal volunteers, the organizing committee, our

partners and all the people or organizations who supported this event from near and far.

Price and Distinction

On Saturday March 28th, 2020, will be held the 2nd edition of the Montreal Open, Sanctioned by La

Fédération Québécoise de Taekwondo, at Center Claude Robillard.

Three cups will be won:

1- The club with the greatest number of participants at the Open de Montréal 2020.

2- The club with the second greatest number of participants at the Open de Montréal 2020.

3- The club with the third greatest number of participants at the Open de Montréal 2020.

4- Two “Oscar plates” Referee (Female and Male) of the event

► ACCREDITATION Accreditation cards will be produced for duly registered individuals (participants, coaches, accompanist) and will be distributed in the morning prior to the start of the competition.

► ACCESS AREA FIGHT Access to the battle area is strictly reserved for athletes and coaches accredited by duly registered clubs. The warm-up area is accessible to registered attendants. Athletes who have finished their fights are invited to leave the battle area. These measures aim to ensure the best possible visibility to the spectators. Failure to do so will void your access rights.

► COACHING Quebec coaches must be accredited by the Quebec Taekwondo Federation. Appropriate dress is required. Pre-registration is mandatory (only one form per school). The ratio of 1 coach to 5 athletes is suggested.

► WEIGHING The athletes are weighed in Dobok on the day of the competition.

► EVENTS Single elimination fight and fight for the bronze medal.

► REFUND No refund of registration fees except in the event that no contest can be offered to a participant present.

► CATEGORIES Yellow belts to red black bar, U7 to U9, Youth, Cadet, Junior, Senior and 35 and +. Recreational black belts are athletes who do not compete in selection competitions for Canadian or higher championships.

INFORMATIONS The categories that will have access to the electronic chest protector are: Young Blue and more, Cadet and Junior Divisions Yellow to Black.The rules of the Quebec Taekwondo Federation of Quebec apply for the fighting.

► FACE CONTACT No contact to the face is allowed for competitions participatory level.

► CONSOLIDATION Consolidation involves riding an athlete in a superior belt or weight division when no opponent can be assigned to his division. The consolidation is done according to the rules of the Quebec Taekwondo Federation and requires the agreement of the coach of the athlete concerned. However, no consolidation of a non-contact face division can be made to a division where face contact is permitted.

► ELECTRONIC FEET Only the first generation is allow on this competition

► MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

● The athlete must provide his own

equipment..

● Complete Dobok with color belt

recognized by F.Q.T.

● Reversible chest protector (blue / red), of

appropriate size (model covering the

shoulders and back of the participant).

● Helmet white or color matching the

plastron..

● Mouth protector (transparent or white)

mandatory from the CADET category (for

colors) and for all black belts.

● Forearm guards under the dobok. Cotton

protectors allowed for age groups U7, U9

and YOUNG level belts yellow to green.

● Approved protective gloves or equivalent

WTF (white or matching color to the front

plate) for all black belts. ITF gloves or

boxing prohibited.

● Shell protection under the dobok (men

and women).

● Shin guards under the dobok. Cotton

protectors not allowed.

● Foot guard covering the top of the foot is

mandatory for everyone. Slippers are

allowed. Cotton protectors are accepted

for U7 and U9 age groups. ITF protectors

prohibited.

● For the YOUNG blue to black belt, as well

as CADET and JUNIOR, yellow to black

belts, Daedo brand Electronic Chest

Booties are required. Electronic chests

provided by the F.Q.T.

► ACCEPTED EQUIPMENT

Only equipment approved by the W.T.F. and the F.Q.T. are allowed during a competition. Other equipment is allowed for extra protection such as : ● Forearm protection, under the dobok, with

elbow protector. ● Knee protection, under the dobok, must

be made of fabric, without metal or plastic parts.

All religious garments approved by the World Taekwondo Federation are accepted under the helmet and dobok.

► REFUSED EQUIPMENT

● Necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings, piercings with metal fasteners must be removed, without exception.

● Training shoes are not accepted for fighting.

► GLASSES

Only the safe sport bezel is allowed (squash style, glass and "rounded" plastic frame). It is noted that any conventional type bezel will be refused. In the event that a competitor can not fight without his own glasses and does not have a safe sports glasses: he will be declared a loser without a fight (if his category has already started the fight). The organization will not have to refund its registration fees.
