We are delighted that you have chosen to train with us and we are excited to welcome you to our YogaMedCo family. This welcome packet includes important information about your training requirements; please review this packet carefully and reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. Required Training: YogaMedCo Well-Being Coach Certificate Program In order to earn your YogaMedCo Well-Being Coach certificate, you must complete 75 hours of training, with 40 hours delivered live (either online or in-person) plus 35 hours of training delivered via our self-paced online “home study” training course. Upon successful completion of these 75 training hours AND 3 coaching skill assessments, you will be given your YogaMedCo Well-Being Coach certificate of completion. (Learn more about the courses included in this 75 hours of training on the next page). Board Certification: NBHWC Requirements After you complete your 75 hours of coach training with us, and pass all three skill assessments, you have the option of taking the national coaching board exam with the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC); this is an option, but not required. For those desiring to take this option and become a board-certified health and wellness coach, an additional 50 sessions of coaching practicum will need to be completed after completion of our program, as well as the NBHWC proctored board exam. Coaching practicum log and exam details can be found on the NBHWC website, and exam application timing is included in the schedule on the next page. In this live course, coach trainees learn best practices in the growing and evolving health and wellness coaching field, and learn national coaching standards set by NBHWC. Together we develop your coaching techniques and decision-making skills with plenty of case study presentations and practice. We also review for the national board exam in health and wellness coaching (sponsored by NBHWC) so that you learn evidence-informed practices and professional guidelines for health and wellness coaching and how to apply them in an appropriate “coach’s scope of practice.” Together we will also review key elements of the self-paced portion of the training and discuss professional standards and ethics for coaches today. Trainees can also ask questions from the self-paced portion of the course.

This course is open to anyone who wants to review for the NBHWC coaching exam and is also a required course for the YogaMedCo Well-Being Coach program (an approved NBHWC program preparing coaches for the national board exam, to earn the NBC-HWC credential). CEC’s are available; please inquire.

In this training, coach trainees experience the “client view” of Dr. Suzie Carmack’s YogaMedCo coaching method and learn why an integrative health and well-being approach to lifestyle medicine and coaching is so important for client and patient outcomes. Trainees learn how health, wellness and well-being coaches partner with lifestyle medicine providers to support clients in achieving their healthy habit and thriving lifestyle goals, without going out of scope for the coach’s practice. This course also includes an overview of the top ten chronic diseases, and how lifestyle medicine-based coaching can be a powerful tool in preventing and managing them. Trainees can also ask questions from the self-paced portion of the course.

This training is open to anyone who wants to learn how health, wellness and well-being coaches can partner with lifestyle medicine providers, and is also a required course for the YogaMedCo Well-Being Coach program (an approved NBHWC program preparing coaches for the national board exam, to earn the NBC-HWC credential). In this portion of the training, you will study online and go at your own pace to learn how to coach using the YogaMedCo coaching method. This unique and inspiring coaching method was developed by Dr. Suzie Carmack, PhD, MFA, MEd, ERYT 500, NBC-HWC, a pioneer in the well-being coaching movement and experienced coach, researcher, and yoga teacher trainer. You’ll learn how she developed this unique talk – and movement-based coaching method over the course of 20 years of study and working with thousands of individual and organizational clients, and how you can use this method to design a session and/or series that helps your clients to move through their mindset blocks and achieve the thriving lifestyle that they crave.

This training is open to anyone who wants to learn the YogaMedCo Coaching Method and is also a required course for the YogaMedCo Well-Being Coach program (an approved NBHWC program preparing coaches for the national board exam, to earn the NBC-HWC credential). CEC’s are available; please inquire.
