Our World Congress in Berlin was the biggest and most diverse Congress so far, with more than 3000 delegates from 115 countries. Upcoming ISUOG Education courses We will be hosting the ' Endometriosis and gynecologic oncology: do they have something in common?' course in London on 29 November 2019. The course can be attended on site or via live stream. This will be our final course for the year, but, we have plenty more coming up in 2020 including two joint courses with SMFM in the USA on management of twins and making best use of ultrasound in pregnancy, a course on fetal echocardiography and one on perinatal doppler and vascular imagery. All our upcoming courses are available to live stream, which allows you to attend the course from anywhere in the world. By live streaming, you can participate in the course in real time, ask your questions, participate in discussions, receive your certificate of attendance, and also re-watch the course for a month after the course. Basic Training This month, Basic Training returned to Colombia for part two of the successful course in Medellin; The Obstetric and Gynecological Ultrasound in Greater Depth: Fetal Anomalies and Gynecology, on November 8 th and 9 th . There are also several Basic Training courses coming up around the world in 2020 that will be delivered in English. ISUOG Outreach travelled to Rwanda for the first time to initiate Phase 1 of our programme in conjunction with the Ministry of Health. Over 5 days, 4 international volunteers worked with 25 trainees new to ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In this time alone, the trainees were able to identify 5 ectopic pregnancies, polycystic ovaries, preeclampsia and placenta praevia amongst other diagnosis, demonstrating their new skills. Find out more in ISUOG Outreach blog. Patient Information Series ISUOG launched its Patient Information Series in Berlin. The aim of the series is to provide answers to the why, how and what now, and to help breakdown gynecological and obstetrical conditions in simple, easy to understand language for the benefit of women and their families. You can access the leaflets here or at the related VISUOG page. New partnership: ENTOG-ISUOG ISUOG has entered into a partnership with the European Network of Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ENTOG) to collaborate on global projects, education programmes and events, particularly around the ISUOG Basic Training for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the trainee partnership and other ISUOG activities and resources. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Katia Bilardo, President of ISUOG, and Agnieszka Horała, the Secretary General of ENTOG, at the 29th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Berlin. Congress Information Basic Training Patient Information Series Committee appointments Meet our new Chairs for VISUOG Task force, Clinical Standards Committee and Outreach Committee Dr. Karen Fung-Kee-Fung, MD, FRCS, MHPE has been appointed the new Chair of the VISUOG Task force. Karen Fung-Kee-Fung, has been a member of ISUOG since 1990 and serves on the CME Task Force for ISUOG. She has had a long-standing career in academic Maternal Fetal Medicine and Gynecological Ultrasound at the University of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, for the past 30 years. Lisbet Hanson, MD, FACOG has been appointed as the Chair of the Outreach Committee. She has been a member of ISUOG for 10 years. Dr. Hanson is a certified Da Vinci Robotics Surgeon, is the founding Medical Director of Women’s Health and Chair of the surgical robotics program at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, and is Assistant Professor at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. She has a keen interest in the application of innovative technology in the advancement of health outcomes and has received numerous awards on the local, state and national level recognizing her contributions to community service and women’s health. Federico Prefumo has been appointed Chair of the Clinical Standards Committee. He is currently Associate Professor at the University of Brescia, Italy, and Consultant Obstetrician at Spedali Civili di Brescia Hospital. His clinical and research interests include Doppler and biochemical screening of pregnancy complications (pre-eclampsia, fetal growth restriction), ultrasonographic and biochemical screening of aneuploidies, maternal cardiovascular function in pregnancy and management of complicated twin pregnancies. Dr. Karen Fung-Kee-Fung, MD, FRCS, MHPEhas been appointed the new Chair of theVISUOG Task force. Karen Fung-Kee-Fung, hasbeen a member of ISUOG since 1990 andserves on the CME Task Force for ISUOG. Shehas had a long-standing career in academicMaternal Fetal Medicine and GynecologicalUltrasound at the University of Ottawa, Ontario,Canada, for the past 30 years.
