“Right after breakfast”, Mum replied.

“I hate getting up early at the weekend”, Jill shouted.

Introduction (warm-up)

The examiner asks 2 or 3 of the following questions:

2) How are you today?

3) Where do you live? (In a house or in a flat?)

4) Do you have any brothers or sisters?

5) Where do you go to school?

Note: Question number 1 is always asked.

Speaking – part 2

Showing pictures and asking questions (spot the difference)

The examiner shows the two pictures to the child and asks him / her to describe three or more

differences.

Support questions:

• How many chicks and ducks can you see? (4 x 5, 4 x 3)

• Is the girl wearing any boots? (yes x no)

• Is the sun going down? (yes x no)

• Are both geese looking to the left? (yes x no)

• What is the girl wearing? (a T-shirt with shorts x a dress)

Then the examiner moves on and asks more general questions about the picture:

• Where, do you think, it is? (farm, playground, countryside, town….)

• What animal from the picture do you like best? (Why?)

• This picture is black and white. How would you colour it?

The topic is loosely connected to the picture from Part 2. It is, nevertheless, more general and the
