2009 A YEAR IN REVIEW

Over the course of 2009 I was able to do many things that I have been believing God for since 2004.

I really believe that God spoke to me about leading others in understanding the Bible. So I set out on a journey of obedience. Sometimes I felt like this

journey would never be realized, but I kept on going.

In January last year, I was able to re-

pioneer YWAM RTO’s inductive Bible course, BCC. We had 4 students who were young missionaries sign up for the 6 month journey into each genre of

scripture, covering 14 different books. Then I was able to take one of those students on for further training in PNG.

We ran seminars with local pastors who don’t have the same access to this kind of education. This is all possible because of my supporters. THANKS!!!

It really was a busy year for Jonathan!

AND TO BE HONEST I WAS TRULY HUMBLED FOR MY TIME WITH FAMILY. I FEEL THAT GOD HAS BLESSED ME SO MUCH WITH FAMILY MEMBERS THAT LOVE ME. I KNOW SO MANY WHO DON’T KNOW THAT FEELING.

NO OFFENSE EVERYONE, BUT I LOVE MY NIECES AND NEPHEWS! OVER THE YEARS I HAVE NOT REALLY EXPERIENCED HOME SICKNESS, UNTIL MY FAMILY STARTED TO HAVE CHILDREN...

I have been told that I live in the oldest apartment building in Townsville. I am not sure if this is true,

but it makes sense. For the past 2 years I have lived here, but my flat mate has been in this place for much much longer.

While I was in Indonesia teaching back in 2008, I came home to a remodeled kitchen. Watto, my

flatmate, had put in an extra counter, painted the back wall and changed the shelving. It was such an amazing

surprise, and wonderful thing to return to.

Watto is always doing things like this. Fixing a car or putting in an

air-conditioner, or even taking other young missionaries on hiking adventures. He is a very generous guy,

who never asks for anything in return for the things he does.

So when he took off for 6 weeks to Sydney for holiday and

ministry training, I got to thinking. I had wanted to paint our walls and just give the place a real good spring cleaning.

The thought of it alone was a bit daunting though, so I just started to chat with a few others.

Before I knew it I had a whole team, who wanted to give time and even their own money to see this blessing come to pass. We were able to

repaint the whole living area of the flat, as well as lay carpet in Watto’s bedroom, and even saw new bedding

donated, pillows and all.

Thanks so much to everyone who made this possible!!!

When we returned from staff retreat my flat mates left for a few weeks. So I wanted to be a blessing!

YWAM STAFF RETREAT

After 7 weeks in PNG followed by some weird viral infection that put me out of commission for 2

weeks, I was ready to head home!

As much as I loved my time at home and with my family, it really is never enough, I was ready to come back

to work. Well sort of...

It is sometimes hard to come strait back to work full time after

traveling so much, it is almost as though you need a holiday from your holiday. Well that is just what I got this year.

I returned just in time to drive 2 hours up into the Australian Bush. Our entire base, about 125 people in

all, went camping together. IT was quite the ordeal to cook for that many, but we managed.

It was so wonderful to just

return to friends and co-workers for the Lord for a time of fellowship and team development. We spent time

looking at how to utilize our strengths from the “Stenghts Finder” books, and just enjoy God in his creation!!

Welcome home from the states, Lets Go to Staff Retreat!

F INALLY, CHRISTMAS IN AUS!

It is actually quite hard to adjust to being so far away from friends and family for Christmas, and other holidays

as well. But as I have been doing this since 2004, I have learned how to make the most of what God has blessed me with.

So yeah, we spend a lot of time with our new friends and new family here all living out our portion of God’s call. We

have lots of meals together to celebrate the birth of our Lord, and the things that he has done in and through us.

The other shift that has been tough is the shift from winter snow, to summer heat and humidity.

We love it though. I find myself looking forward to stable on the strand and big community feasts as a base. Christmas is amazing wherever you go, may God

bless yours this year!

Remember that no matter how inconvenient your Christmas time can

be, God is in it and truly wants to celebrate with you! God Bless You very much!!

Christmas in the tropics, not fires & cider, but aircon, bbq’s, and beaches...

THANK YOU!

1. TO MY FAMILY FOR LOVING ME AND LETTING ME GO.

2. TO MY SUPPORTERS FOR PRAYER AND FINANCES TO

BE OBEDIENT TO WHAT I BELIEVE GOD AS CALLED ME.

3. ALL MY FRIENDS, WITH WHOM I CAN RECONNECT WITH AFTER LONG ABSENCES.

4. MY LORD JESUS FOR REDEEMING MY BROKEN LIFE
