Resource Card: Mental health awareness week

Mrs James has shared with the whole school some information about an important week that is fast approaching. Mental health awareness week. In school we usually celebrate this by discussing our feelings and emotions and do lots of team building exercises. The theme this year is ‘KINDNESS’!

Below is some activities you can do at home to discuss what kindness means to you and how you can show it. Check out the charity's website https://www.place2be.org.uk/

Activity one:

Can you design an acrostic poem using the word kindness. Write a sentence for each letter about how you show kindness to others.

Activity two:

Can you write a diary entry on a piece of paper about an occasion when someone has shown you real kindness. What happened , why do you think it has stuck with you ? What can you do to show kindness to others?

Activity three:

Find a cup/mug at home and write down/ draw pictures on different pieces of paper which represent all the kindness in your life. Fold up all the pieces when done, place them in the cup and then share them with someone else.

Resource Card: Science In school we would usually be investigating tooth decay by conducting this class experiment, you could try doing this at home! You need to place 5 eggs in speate cups and submerged in different liquids. Leave for 7 days and record what changes you can see. This experiment is showing you what different substances do to your teeth over time!
