Chords

Remember the 3 chord mashup project? This was based around Next To Me and the 3 chords that repeated

over and over.

What is a chord?Here is a chord. This example is a C chord

(because it starts on C).

If you play any two (or more)

notes together, you have made a

chord.

Why do we use chords?

• They create harmony. – This is when two notes play together to

create a thicker texture and (usually) a pleasant sounding backing.
