3. Miss Teague and Mrs Taylor plan a treat for their Year 5’s for working so hard a home.

A BBQ buffet for all costs £3456.
They plan to hire the bouncy castle and have food for 2 hours.

Speaking and Listening Look at the picture- what do you see?
Grammar Punctuation Spelling
Uplevel the sentences to write a paragraph- try embedded clauses, parenthesis, fronted adverbials. The boy held out some food. The dragon ate it. He was green and had horns.
The King had known that the gift he presented to his children on their fifth birthday was dangerous. He was prepared to take the risk of letting them own a pet dragon. One day, the twins would rule the kingdom together, and they would need all the help they could get. No-one could deny that a dragon was a powerful ally! However, before then the children had much work to do. They had to train their dragon!
Story starter!Read this carefully

Writing taskWe have been writing the next part of a Story in our narrative writing unit.
Try planning and writing an adventure for the dragon and the children. Use the next slide as a starting point or think of your story ideas.
Use the recipe on the next slide to help support your writing. See if you can present a published version with an illustration.
An evil witch has commanded an army to steal the King’s crown and take control of the castle. The dragon is defending the children- use the recipe to write this part of the story.

Use well-constructed expanded noun phrases for impact on the reader.
Use a range of sentence openings, including fronted adverbials.Use long and short sentences deliberately for impact.Use adverbs to show degrees of possibility. (eg. perhaps, surely)

Topic task- Diorama Create a suitable habitat for the new
creature you designed a few weeks ago.● Which physical features it will need within the natural landscape in order to
ensure its survival?
● Where and how will its basic needs be met- food, shelter?
● Which climate features do you need to include?
You will need a shoe box, art and craft materials eg fabrics, magazines, paper, scissors, glue, tape. See the next slide for ideas.

Can you do something that will make someone smile? Spend some time thinking about who you want to give a smile to and how you will do it.
