It gives you information about what is going to be taught in all areas of the curriculum in school and suggests some ways in which you can get involved and help out at home. We see this as a great opportunity for you to share in your child’s education. On the back page you will find further information regarding homework and what to expect each week. Thank you for your support! Year 4 Staff Mr Fuidge & Mr Wilkes Spelling / Handwriting Each week your child will be sent home with a list of spellings to practise. They will also be able to log into Spelling Shed at home. Your child will also be given a list of words that that they need to be able to spell by the end of Year 5. You can use this to practise spelling with your child whenever you have time to spare. Occasionally, your child will be asked to practise some aspect of their handwriting at home too. Homework Occasionally your child will be given a piece of Maths or English homework to complete at home. This will be something that they have already covered in school or a reading comprehension activity. Please encourage your child to complete this activity. At the end of the term your child will be asked to produce a project that is based on our topic this term, the children will then have the opportunity to present their work to the class. Don’t forget… Your child will be heard reading every week in school and this will supplement reading activities in lessons. We would appreciate it, therefore, if you could ensure your child brings their reading book into school every day. Your child will normally do P.E. on Thursday. Could you please ensure your child brings in appropriate P.E. kit on that day. If your child has pierced ears, please ensure they remove earrings before arriving at school, if they are unable to remove them by themselves.
