Year 4 Spanish Day

Where is Spain in Europe?• We looked closely at a

map of Spain and found

out that it has a large

coastline, with beautiful

beaches and many people

enjoy visiting Spain every

year on holiday.

• It is also bordered by Portugal,

Gibraltar, Andorra and France.

We created some collages of beach scenes and used them as an inspiration

to write poems about A Spanish Holiday.

My Spanish Holiday

I went on a shimmering plane To an incredible country called SpainI went for a paddle in the sea.But it was too cold for me!

I had a delicious, strawberry ice-creamIt tasted just like a dream! Then I headed for the shopsWhere I bought some lovely tops.

I got all my friends a giftI only just managed to fit in the lift! Then I went to watch a bull fightAs a treat on the very last night.

I had such a lovely time in Spain. That I hope I can go again. By Erin

What is the Spanish flag like? We found out that the yellow section of the Spanish flag

is double the width of the red

sections.

We learnt that Spain has a King

and Queen.The Royal Coat of

Arms is on the Spanish flag.

Spanish Music and Dance

We learnt Spanish

dances and listened

to Spanish guitar

music whilst we

worked.

Famous Spanish PeopleThere are many famous Spanish people including footballer Fernando Torres and World Number 1 tennis star Rafael Nadal

Pablo Picasso was a famous Spanish artist.

So we created some artwork in the style of Picasso by drawing our portraits looking unusual, and then adding shapes and painting them in bright and colourful ways.

Did Picasso actually paint Miss Hoyle?
