Every day you will have lessons, just like you did in school!

Please complete your work into an exercise book, if you have one. There is no need to print lots of sheets out, just copy questions onto paper if needed.

Parents/carers:

If you have any questions about the work I have set, please contact our schools email address:

[email protected]

and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Maths

All these cars hold possible suspects.

The theives had a secret meeting 1 hour ago which means their cars had the same coordinates before they translated.

We need to find out who had the same coordinates 1 hour ago.

We know where each car is now (on the map) and the tranlation each car made from its last location.

We need to work backwards from where they are now.

Work backwards. If it is

Writing challenge

For this week's writing challenge, you will need to watch the short film 'A water path for a fish'.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEEAQIZI3Ug

Writing challenge

Your writing challenge this week is to create an 'inspired' piece of writing based on the short film, 'A water path for a fish'.

A non-chronological report; 'Caring for a pet fish.'

Using the film as inspiration, can you write a non-chronological report, explaining all of the things you need to know to take care of a fish?

If you are writing a non-chronological report, you need to write in a formal style. Try using these sentence starters to order your text, therby making you appear as the expert!

A story

Can you turn this short film into a story, filled with beautiful, descriptive language and Ispace openers?

A basic structure that may help you is on the next slide.

A film review.

A film review is similar to a book review, but there are many important features which a film review must have. I have included a check list for you, which you should use, if you choose to write in this style. It is avilable in larger print on the next slide.

Like all rich folk, I want to start my own sports team. I don't mind which sport, I don't mind what our uniforms and equipment look like. All I care about is that we are the best, and that we look the best.

I have managed to purchase a plot of land in HAWAII, in which my new team can be based. The location of the team is important, as that should inform any design decisions you make.

Your job is to create a team for me, in any sport. You will be responsible for naming the team, designing its uniform and designing its mascot. Y'all understand?

Page 24: Year 4 Home Learning!...2020/06/25  · therby making you appear as the expert! A story Can you turn this short film into a story, filled with beautiful, descriptive language and Ispace

Step One – Research

The first thing you need to is plenty of research.I need you to research Hawaii; it's geography, it's traditions, it's existing sports, it's food, it's culture...all of that! Make a record of everything that you discover so that you can use it when it comes to designing your logo, uniforms and mascot.

Page 25: Year 4 Home Learning!...2020/06/25  · therby making you appear as the expert! A story Can you turn this short film into a story, filled with beautiful, descriptive language and Ispace

Step Two – Logo Design

Next, you need to incorporate your research into a logo.A logo is just a fancy way of presenting your team name using a mixture of stylized words and images. Below are some examples of sports team logos.

Page 26: Year 4 Home Learning!...2020/06/25  · therby making you appear as the expert! A story Can you turn this short film into a story, filled with beautiful, descriptive language and Ispace

Step Three – Kit Design

Most sports teams make more money from merchandise sales than from ticket sales. That's why I need you to incorporate that research from step one into an eye-catching uniform design. You may need to research the requirements of your chosen sport first.

Step Four – Mascot Design

Last, but not least, you need to get the attention of your younger fans with a mascot. A mascot is a colourful, costumed character who causes mischief during the live games. Everyone loves a good mascot! Be sure to flesh them out with a name and a bit of a back-story.
