total refurbishment and expansion of The Hub which was completed at the end of Term 1 2017.
Elanora SHS was successful with a Classrooms for Tomorrow submission which has resulted in over $850 000 being spent on refurbishing our Science block which began operation two weeks ago..
Elanora SHS became an Independent Public School at the start of 2017 and our new school council has now been formed.
Elanora SHS has over 25% of our Year 12 students currently enrolled in Griffith & Southern Cross University Programs which will result in direct entry places prior to the conclusion of this year.
ATAR – How do I get one?• To be eligible for an ATAR you must select 5 Authority Subjects over 4 semesters and sit the Queensland Core Skills Test (QCS) in Year 12.
• You must keep 3 subjects the same throughout the 4 semesters.
• To maximise your OP – get your best possible grades in your best five authority subjects + perform well on the QCS Test
• How do I find an Authority Subject in the Subject Selection Handbook?
What is a Rank?• A rank is an OP equivalent generated from your results in
Authority and Non Authority subjects.• A rank is only calculated for Non OP eligible students.• A rank is a number between 1‐100• A grade on the QCS test will also contribute to the calculation
of a rank.• Wish to discuss ranks? Make an appointment with our
Guidance Officer – Ms Sue Cutts/Ms Sharon Kyme• A 2018 Rank calculator is also available on the QTAC website
www.qtac.edu.au
The Subject Selection Process
The key steps in selecting subjects once key decisions such as OP
eligibility are made.
Direct Entry Programs• Direct Entry programs exist for local universities.• ESHS has an outstanding record in delivering these programs.
• Programs are outlined in the Senior Subject Selection booklet and include GRIFBIO, GRIFCHEM and SCU Human Physiology & Headstart.
• Programs range in delivery options and attendance requirements.
• The common element of all programs is that successful completion will lead to a Direct Entry offer as well as some programs gaining QCE Credit points.
