Our vision at YCPA is threefold: to unite, to empower and to propel young Asian professionals and entrepreneurs.

We foster networks and create opportunities to connect, train and equip our members with the tools to exceed their potential and become today’s leaders. With a diverse pool of talent across a range of exciting fields, we mobilize individuals to break new grounds and dynamically contribute to Canada’s economic and social growth.

By becoming the active, uniting voice for the Asian community, we facilitate global partnerships to create an international business platform between Canada and China. As a proud member of the Regroupement des jeunes chambres de commerce du Québec (RJCCQ), we promote exciting opportunities for our members to bring new products, services and ideas to the forefront. In doing so, we are supported by a portfolio of prestigious public, private and not-for- profit organizations from one side of the Pacific to the other.

As a community-based association, YCPA also works hard to bring awareness to a number of humanitarian and social causes. We draw on resources to support key initiatives led by organizations such as Project Hope China, the Montreal Chinese Hospital Foundation, Canadian Red Cross, Jiu Ding Club, Montreal Chinese Cultural Center and the Children’s Wish Foundation.

By recognizing the importance of giving back and promoting collaborative, community engagement, we empower our members and build capacity through the exchange of knowledge. Coupled with a series of workshops, conferences and mentoring programs designed to develop effective skills and competencies; we propel our members to the next level in their career.

CINDY HO PRESIDENT – YOUNG CHINESE PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION LAWYER - DS AVOCATS

Cindy Ho is a lawyer whose practice is primarily focused in the area of business law. She is involved in various national and international business transactions, with a particular emphasis on China related matters. Cindy is also the president, director and member of the Young Chinese Professionals Association (YCPA) as well as the national secretary and director of the Hong-Kong Canada Business Association.

JEAN-EMMANUEL POITRAS MISSION LEADER - YOUNG CHINESE PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION SENIOR EXPORT ADVISOR – AGRIFOOD EXPORT GROUP CANADA

With an experience of more than seven years in trade facilitation, Jean-Emmanuel Poitras leverages its knowledge, network and passion to serve Canadian food exporters. Over the years, he has developed a solid expertise in facilitating market access for many SMEs in Asia. Following his Master's degree in International Business, Jean-Emmanuel worked in Hangzhou for a prominent Chinese IT company. He is now leading the YCPA’s first mission to China with the goal to empower young professionals with the tools and contacts to conduct business in China.


KELVIN MO FOUNDER - YOUNG CHINESE PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION SERIAL ENTREPRENEUR

Kelvin Mo is a senior consultant in the field of business and administration. Entrepreneur at heart, he founded two companies: Global Health Service Group Inc. in 2008 and BCMMO Inc. in 2013 to better serve its clientele. It is made up of small and medium-sized companies, working at local, national and international level. He is the president of Canada China SME and vice-president of the Saint Laurent Mont Royal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He founded the YCPA in 1999. Kelvin Mo holds an Executive MBA and a Graduate Diploma in Ergonomic Intervention in the Workplaces of UQAM. In 2013, he was selected by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council to participate in Beijing in special training on Chinese economic development with other international entrepreneurs.

MICHELLE J. HUI ACCOUNT MANAGER TECHNOLOGY – NATIONAL BANK

Michelle developed a passion for serving her community since her enrollment in the International Program and afterwards continuing throughout her bachelor degree in finance at Concordia University John Molson School of Business. With her professional experience as a banker at the National Bank of Canada in technology financing and as a board of director for the Young Chinese Professional Association of Quebec, she was also elected as the first Chinese municipal councillor in Brossard, Quebec in November, 2017.


PETER TRANG VP OPERATIONS – ALIMENTS CRYSTAL INC.

Former member of the Board of Director of YCPA from 2013 to 2015, Peter has accumulated over 4 years of work experience in Corporate finance. Specializing in Health Care, Energy and Consumer Staples industry, Peter's mandates was to structure appropriate financing solutions in various transactions including Leverage buyouts, Mergers and Acquisitions and Dividend capitalization in Quebec. In February 2018, Peter has decided to pursuit new challenges in the food processing industry as a VP Operations at Aliments Crystal. Peter holds a bachelor's degree at the John Molson School of Business.


RUYU QI GRADUATE MEDICAL STUDENT – MCGILL UNIVERSITY

A graduating medical student, Ruyu Qi is passionate about AI and ophthalmology. She is a writer on the Health.Ai platform on Medium and went to Stanford for a medical elective last year. Ruyu is also actively involved in medical research and has published as first author in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) and the American Journal of Medical Sciences. Her career goal is to combine her passions for medicine and for technology in order to innovate and improve healthcare. As a recipient of the Jiu Ding Scholarship and an active member of the local Chinese community, Ruyu is very proud of her Chinese heritage and wishes to leverage her language skills (fluency in Chinese Mandarin, English and French) to create even more mutually-beneficial partnerships and project opportunities between Canada and China.


ANTHONY VORACHITH CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR – ARCONIC

Anthony is an ambitious individual that thrive to better himself on both personal and professional level. He has experience representing various provinces and states as a consultant in economic development. His skills and ease to adaptation allowed him to position himself in a multinational corporation which has presence all across the globe. As a seeker of opportunities to create new bridges to empower young professionals and entrepreneurs from the YCPA, Anthony is interested in the Commercial Mission in China to demonstrate the importance of conducting businesses on an international level.

AMANDA G. HUI USER EXPERIENCE & PRODUCT DESIGNER – NESTREADY

Having worked in telecommunications, entertainment and the startup industry, Amanda is a designer that focuses on user experience, usability, and product design. Designers are responsible for finding solutions. Great designers are naturally curious. With a degree in Computer Arts and Design with minor studies in the Modern Language Studies of Mandarin, Amanda seeks to further create products and services that cater to the international market.


ERIC PAUL FOUNDER – GENERATION E-COM

My name is Eric Paul, and I am a specialist in marketing and management. With an executive MBA in hand, I began my career in key positions in the manufacturing sector. I have worked on several product launch projects, market analysis, and sales strategy development. Convinced of the incredible potential offered by e-commerce and the Amazon platform, I then started with online sales. I am President and founder of many companies with great teams, and we offer reliable support to other businesses that want to conquer the Canadian and American Amazon market. I am looking to meet Chinese manufacturers who would need my expertise to succeed in the online marketplace by commercializing their product on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com. Additionally, I want to create partnerships with Chinese e-commerce agencies as well as getting to know the needs of Chinese companies.


THIERRY NEMKAM EMBEDDED SOFTWARE SPECIALIST – CS CANADA

Thierry Nemkam is an aerospace software developer. He has been working as a software specialist in the aeronautical industry since 2010. He completed a master degree in aerospace engineering from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, along with a mechanical engineering degree from Institut Superieur de Mecanique de Paris in France. Thierry is bilingual in French and English, and is currently learning Chinese Mandarin. He is now participating in the YCPA’s first mission to China with the goal to build an Asian-based professional network that will help him take a leading role in multicontinental business management.


JANE JIAOYU WU LAWYER

Jane is currently working as a lawyer in the trademarks department at a well-established intermediary firm in Montreal. She has gained experience in various aspects of Canadian and foreign practice in trademark and copyright law: strategic counselling, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, IP due diligence and enforcement / litigation. Prior to her current position, she worked for two years at Canada's largest intellectual property firm. Fluent in English, French and Mandarin, she expects to acquire a broader perspective of the China-Canada intellectual property dynamic and to expand her professional network through the YCPA’s commercial mission.


JEAN-BENOIT SOLINAS AUDITOR – BDO CANADA

I am a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant with more than 5 years of experience. I am working for BDO⽴立信, one of top five firms in the world, specializing in accounting, tax and financial advisory services. We have a clientele ranging from local start-ups to international public companies in several different industries like high-tech, manufacturing, construction, mining and food industries. We also help high-ended business owners manage their wealth and worldwide investment with the support of our integrated networks across industries and continents. As the Treasurer and director of YCPA, I am excited to be part of our commercial mission in China. I believe this trip will be the greatest chance to open up China market and to provide for potential Chinese clients, with my vest knowledge in the industry, a new insight into the diverse Canadian business opportunities.


YING LIANG STUDENT - MCGILL UNIVERSITY

I am a lawyer licensed in China, specializing in Business Law. I have consultant experience in the fields of local business facilitation and Canadian immigration for Chinese clients. I

am currently studying for my Bachelor of Law degree at McGill University and have obtained my Master’s degree in International Business Law from University of Montreal in 2014. Originated from Guangzhou, I can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English and French. I look for opportunities wherein my talent and integrated knowledge of both countries can be fully applied. I believe there is no better place than YCPA’s commercial mission in China can provide the best possible start to my future career towards a “bridge” of business and culture communication between Canada and China.


STEPHEN ZHIYI WEI PRESIDENT & CEO, WEI INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS, ALFRED LUXURY AUTOMOBILES

Luxury Automobiles international trading, mostly export cars from Canada, USA and Mexico to China. Real Estate Investment, mostly participating in buy and hold student apartment projects.


FRANÇOIS YEA GRADUATE STUDENT – CONCORDIA

François recently completed his Bachelor of Commerce major in Finance at John Molson School of Business. As part of his long-term goal of being fluent in Mandarin, he is currently studying Mandarin language at Concordia University. Working towards his CFA level 1, he is also part of Bobkowicz advisory team at National Bank Financial Wealth Management where he further develops his investment knowledge while optimizing the business. Last year, he studied abroad at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka where he discovered his passion for international interactions. He now strives to gain more hands-on insights of China and set the ground for future China-Canada business opportunities.


CHRISTINA THAI STUDENT – UNIVERSITY OF MONTREAL

I am a student in Economics in University of Montreal. My curiosity of the current world we live in leads me to my current studies and my numerous volunteers’ involvement in different organizations. I am born in Québec with my fellow Quebecers. I have been living in this province all of my life and I have live in Vancouver for a summer. I was raised in a Chinese/ Vietnamese culture where my true foodie heart is born and it blossoms into an Elite writer for the Yelp Montreal community. I speak four languages fluently. In 2018, I decide to undertake a third trip to China where I will learn about the culture, work and study the language. At the moment, I am learning Mandarin twice a week with a tutor from Shanghai and I will further my language learning in Tsingshua University during the summer. Mandarin will be my fifth language.


ALBERT M. GAGNON JUNIOR OPTICAL ENGINEER - TERAXION

Presently working as a Junior Optical Engineer at TeraXion in Quebec City, Albert M. Gagnon is interested by the technology sector in China. Prior to his studies in Engineering Physics at École Polytechnique de Montréal, he studied Mandarin Chinese for a full academic year in Tongji University, Shanghai. Willing to deepen his mastery of the Chinese language and curious about the semiconductor industry in Taiwan, he also studied for two semesters in Taipei at the National Taiwan University’s physics department as an exchange student.
