This was the “pre-yacht show run” – the yacht shows being of course Cannes and Monaco. Due to the berthing requirements of these shows, along with the remainder of the charter season still playing influence, yacht movements and locations are always slightly atypical as per the rest of the year. It is also worth mentioning the presence of some very significant yachts in the shipyards at La Ciotat – for some the last point of call before the Atlantic crossing and the start of the Caribbean season. Again, as with previous deliveries, to maximise on our access to the yachts in port, we timed many of the port/marina visits to coincide with the yachts – in the early morning before they were due to leave. With Cannes Vieux Port and Cannes Port Pierre Canto, this week was the ideal time to get to the larger yachts before the yachts were ‘evicted’ to make space for the yacht show. This delivery had particular interest and therefore positive reception from its crew recipients as we had included 2 free entrance invitations (combined value of 40 euro) in each of the first 500 packs delivered, for the Cannes Yachting Festival. The other items in the pack included some original and well thought out gifts and objects which are always preferred by the recipients, over printed supports. Once again, we were granted exclusive access to the small number of yachts currently in the shipyards, thanks to the kind permission of several of the key shipyards along the coast, including Monaco Marine and IMS. The details; • Capitaineries and businesses As we had only 500 unit bookings in this run, these packs were exclusively delivered to the yachts. • The Yachts – Passerelles These are the Yachts that received one of our deliveries on their passerelles. This does not in any way reduce the effectiveness of these deliveries – it simply demonstrates our consideration for the Crew and Guests. In the vast majority of cases the yachts are actively crewed – but they are very busy at the moment we pass by – so to avoid unnecessary hassle to the crews, the YPD & Directories are left on the passerelles – usually picked up by the crew within minutes, often seconds. • The Yachts – Hand to Hand These are the Yachts that we managed to deliver your communication and inserts directly into the hands of either a crew member, the Captain or occasionally an Owner.
