    2011 YAAEYC Conference

Once again our annual YAAEYC Early Childhood Conference was held at Penn State York onSaturday, October 1st. It was such a fantastic day filled with interesting, informative sessions, ex-cited participants and engaging presenters.

This year we had approximately 270 participants. Attendees had the choice of many new andexciting sessions including infant/toddler, school-age and supervisory topics which were offered for

the first time. The comments received by the conference committee after the conference were over-whelmingly positive. Participants were especially happy with the amount of interesting sessions tochoose from and were inspired by the sessions they attended.

We would, again, like to thank Penn State York for providing such a great facility; their staff forhelping out and all the volunteers who made this day such a success. We would also like to thankeveryone who attended. Your enthusiasm and commitment made this day such a success!!!

Please remember that there are always opportunities to help out with this great event. Pleasecontact the committee members or any YAAEYC board member to join this fabulous committee. Thanks, YAAEYC committee members.

    Week of the Young Child

    Mark you calendar for the

2012 Week of the Young Child

    April 22-28!

The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration,

which focuses public attention on the needs of young

children and their families and to recognize the early

childhood programs and services that meet those

needs. After last years super successful week, we

hope to expand our events, and get more community

involvement. The highlight of the Week of the Young

Child is our WOYC Banquet honoring all providers of

high quality ECE. We are currently recruiting for mem-

bers of the committee to help with everything from

prize gathering to promotion to helping with the WOYC

    dinner (and much more!).

Please contact Trish Bissett at Bissettt@unitedway-

york.org orAngie Sparks at [email protected] if

you are interested in finding out more information
