Theme: Manners and Rules
This week we will discuss and remind our students about manners and rules
that they must follow at school. We will talk about respect, care, trust,
honesty, sharing and just being polite to one another. The children will make
a manner hat using paper, crayons, pencils, makers. Manners: say excuse
me, thank you, you are welcome. Polite: waiting for their turn, asking to play or work together, nice
words.
Home work: site, words, math, counting, writing names, science, exercise. Happy birthday to our very
own Ms. Marlene.
cut their very own dinosaurs, dinosaurs bones and volcano sensory. On Friday we will be looking for
dinosaurs bones in the playground. The objective is to find five dinosaurs bones per child and in return
they will receive a glow in the dark dinosaur. Our children will get to experiment with baking soda and
vinegar. Each child will get a turn as we get to see our class volcanoes explode with lava. Bye, Bye
Summer and Hello to a school year full of fun.
State Full Day Preschool - This past week was a great week to explore the different types of
fruit. Our highlights from this past week were water days as well as our fruit salad activity. Next week
will be the final week of summer so we will be focusing on career week. We will be covering the ca-
reers of doctors, dentists, teachers, construction workers, cashiers and many more. On Friday August
28, 2015 we will be having dress-up day as your favorite community helper. Also new to our class,
once a week, we will have a health and safety day. Our preschoolers are very excited to learn more
about health and safety.
School Age - This week we are incorporating Minions in our weekly activities. We are making Min-
ions out of cups, plates, cereal and recycled boxes. For math, we are graphing percentages with Min-
ions. For literacy we are writing 5 sentence paragraphs about the new school year, preparing our read-
ing logs and creating new boards with the back to school theme.

Citrus Circle Our first week of school at Citrus Circle went well. We got in to a daily routine with
the children. After school the children would come to the center. They would first
have a snack and then they do their homework. If the children needed help with
their homework there was always a teacher to help with homework. After
homework the children could work at one of the different centers in the classroom.
On Fridays, the children do not have homework so we do special activities. This
Friday the air quality outside was hazards so we didn't go outside. We painted our rockets but did not
launch them. This Friday we are hoping we can go outside and launch our rockets. We will be using
vinegar and baking soda. We also will be making stain glass windows using wax paper and crayons.
We are to recycle some old crayons.

Last week we were talking about nutrition. The children talked about healthy
foods and snacks. One of the art activities that they did was painting with and
shaving cream and milk. It was sure messy but lots of fun. On Wednesday, we
had water play day. We were really happy that more children brought their water
clothes and had lots of fun. This week we are studying Eric Carle books. Eric Carle
has written many wonderful childrens books that we read here. He did many illus-trations in his books by using water colors and collages. We will be cooking bears
