Theme: The History of Thanksgiving

This week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. We will research the history of

Thanksgiving. We will find out when the United States began to celebrate this

day, which president proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday, and what other countries celebrate

Thanksgiving. We will discuss with the children why they are thankful? What kind of food do they eat on

this special day with their families and what are some of the traditions and different cultures in America.

Also the children will make construction paper Turkey, a thankful tree, Indian head band, Indian

Tee-pees, and the Mayflower. HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY TO ALL OF YOU!!

We will be closed November 26 and November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

City Park Happy Thanksgiving to all of our families! We are wrapping up our last week of our

buildings. Last week Ms. Marisa brought in a work bench for the child to play with the

different tools used to build buildings. The kids really enjoyed playing with them. The

children also made buildings out of Lincoln logs.

We will be closed November 26 and November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

SCHOOL AGE - This week is a short week and it will be packed with

creativity. The children will be creating Thanksgiving cards, fall “Canvas-like”

painting recycled turkeys, center pieces, fall colored bracelets and necklaces

and many more fun class holiday traditions. We wish you a Blessed and

Happy Thanksgiving! Reminder, we are still collecting cans for the food drive

until December 19-2015. Thank you.

FULL TIME PRESCHOOL - Next week M-W we will be reviewing the fall colors by painting leaves. The

kids will also make a turkey hand print after we discuss the meaning of Thanksgiving and the different

foods we eat on that day. We will finish up by decorating a placemat with shapes and letters. Have a

safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

PART TIME PRESCHOOL - Last week in our class we investigated the foods that grow during fall with a

vegetable and fruit test. The class had fun studying the fruits and vegetables and making predictions

about them. This coming week we will be sharing our family traditions. Parents will be helping their

child to create a poster that represents their family tradition and then each child will have a turn to share

their poster with their classmates. We will also be making collages of our favorite foods and the things

that we are thankful for. On Wednesday, we will be having a movie and pajama day. We will be

closed November 26 and November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

folded, and working together painting with their peers using one hand.
