I miss my snowbirds who are now nestled back in their homes. We continue to pray for you and look forward to seeing you in the winter. We continue to give God all the thanks and blessings for his many gifts. My wife and I are looking forward to our first summer in Melbourne Beach, praying it won’t be too hot! My St. Sebastian’s family, please lookout for pop-up events that will place randomly throughout the summer. As a church family, we must find time to fellowship together outside of church hours. Through all the busy activities of our church life, our members are still doing God’s work outside the walls of the church. Peter Jepeal works with injured turtles at Brevard Zoo. Walt Koenig, Gary Conner and Dave Rector volunteer with Kairos, and I am working with Melbourne Beach Rotary. We thank them for their fortitude of service. Please share with Alison, or myself, your outreach activities so we can recognize you for your efforts. Peace and Blessings, Fr. Garry U Ps. Please have your hurricane preparedness plan ready as the season starts June 1 st . XYZ Luncheon Our next luncheon is Tuesday, June 12th, at 11:30am. All are invited to join us at Memaw’s BBQ on Eau Gallie Blvd. The sign-up sheet is in Smodell Hall. Are We There Yet? The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of St. Sebastian’s By-the-Sea supports Miles of Pennies (MOP), which provides free Christian literature to needy children worldwide. The MOP also designates grants to allow for the distribution of recycled children’s books. Thanks to your contributions, we have collected $68.83 during the past year to support MOP. Our ultimate objective is to donate one “mile” of pennies, or $844.80. To date, we have donated $322.82 toward that target. Let’s continue to fill the collection jars with spare change so we can reach our donation goal of one “mile” of pennies. Thank you so much for supporting this valuable effort. The ECW members also collected $27.61 over the past year at our monthly meetings and it was donated to the Church Periodical Club, another ministry of the printed word.

A Father Just Like You

I just want to let you know You mean the world to me

Only a heart as dear as yours Would give so unselfishly

The many things you’ve done

All the times that you were there Help me know deep down inside

How much you really care

Even though I might not say I appreciate all you do

Richly blessed is how I feel Having a father just like you

AA BBlleessssiinngg BBeeyyoonndd TThhee WWaallllss Thank you, thank you, thank you, for supporting the recent Kairos Prison Ministry, 5/17-20, with prayer, cookies, and money. Perhaps, it is reasonable to assume that we are not all called to be directly involved with prison ministry. However, Kairos, could not have grown for 40 years with 30,000 members, currently, without the support of the local churches, represented on the weekends. That’s right, God is in charge, and he had called on so many of you to be on the weekend, with you support, and you responded in such a magnificent way. Again, thank you. Structurally, the weekend is designed to lead us through getting to know each other on Thursday; encounter with self on Friday; encounter with God on Saturday, and encounter with others on Sunday. The last thing on Sunday was the time for the inmates to give their Christian witness. Being Pentecost, the spirit was easy to feel in the Chapel. Gary Connor, David Rector, and Walt Koenig from St Sebastian’s were all a part of this Kairos #10 team. The team will continue to support these new and renewed Christian inmates, in the future walk

George Maul will receive a National Eagle Scout Association Outstanding Eagle Scout Award at the Central Florida Council Annual Awards Banquet on June 1st. Carole, Patty, and Christopher will accompany George at the event.

A SPECIAL INVITATION

On Friday, June 22nd, Fr. Garry will be the Celebrant at his former church, St. Alban’s. He would be delighted to have your family & friends, who live in the area, worship with him.

The church is located at 9408 Farragut Road, Brooklyn, NY 11236. Phone 718-257-0706.
