Xserve RAID
Power Supply
Replacement Instructions
Follow the instructions in this sheet carefully. Failure to follow these instructions could
damage your equipment and void its warranty.
Online instructions covering customer-installable parts are available at
http://www.info.apple.com/installparts/.
Note: Xserve RAID includes two redundant power supplies at the back of the enclosure.
When one power supply is not operational, the other provides power for the entire system.
You can remove or install a power supply while Xserve RAID is running; you do not need
to shut down the system first.
Warning: The power supply is a self-contained, high-voltage component and should
not be opened for any reason.
Important: Do not remove a power supply until you are ready to replace it. The drive
modules may overheat if a power supply is left out of an operating unit for more than10
minutes.
Tools Required
No tools are required for this procedure.
Removing the Installed Power Supply
