xSIGHT Addresses These Key Issues y Prioritization of assurance problems — With the introduction of

smartphones and thousands of downloaded apps, customer use of CSP services has become “personalized” and prioritizing assurance issues has become a complex task.

y Breaking the assurance cost curve —Traditionally, assurance solution costs scale linearly with traffic growth; but, with the current data explosion, this cost model has become unsustainable and costs must now be lowered significantly and scale with revenues.

y The need for a fully open architecture —To deliver holistic, contextual, and relevant insight, assurance solutions must be able to integrate data from a multitude of sources across the entire service delivery path. xSIGHT CEA SolutionThe Viavi xSIGHT assurance portfolio includes all of the components needed for an effective CEA solution, from the infrastructure platform, through analytical applications, and associated professional services.

y xSIGHT Analytics Portal —The xSIGHT Portal gives system users cloud-based access to these powerful analytical applications: xSIGHT CEA, xSIGHT Diagnostics, and xSIGHT Performance Explorer.

y xSIGHT Real-Time Intelligence (RTI) Platform — The xSIGHT RTI Platform is a carrier-grade assurance data collection and mediation platform that powers the xSIGHT Portal applications and has proven to scale in some of the world’s largest CSP networks.

The platform infrastructure consists of two layers:

– xSIGHT Data Access Agents — A family of flexible traffic analysis/storage and data collection agents able to capture the required assurance data from a broad variety of sources along the entire service delivery path. The portfolio includes device, geolocation, and SFP agents, plus a network packet broker to route traffic to the appropriate xSIGHT traffic analysis/storage agents.

– xSIGHT Mediation, Correlation, and Policy Management — Provides all the necessary processing, including enrichment, adaptation, correlation, and aggregation, to power the xSIGHT Portal applications with real-time, relevant, contextual, and dynamic data. xSIGHT Mediation determines and collects only the required data, interfaces (in both directions) with B/OSS solutions, and can feed valuable assurance intelligence to third-party applications.

y PLUS Professional Services — The Viavi professional service organization spans the globe and delivers a range of services, including custom software, system deployment, education, and support.

The xSIGHT application delivers multi-dimensional KPI analysis in real time, linking customer experience to the underlying network and service performance. It enables the industry’s most powerful assurance work-flows with timely and relevant high-level alarms, customer “impact analysis” of detected network/service issues, and problem diagnosis via integrated drill-down of KPI analytics.

High-level customer experience displays like the example above enable xSIGHT CEA users to quickly determine which service performance dimensions are the cause for most concern with the tile size indicating the scale of any problem (for example, the number of customers impacted). Selecting a performance dimension for more detailed analysis immediately activates a dynamic filter function within the xSIGHT solution to only collect and display data and KPIs relevant to the user’s selection.

xSIGHT Performance Explorer

The diagram below shows a typical xSIGHT Performance Explorer display, enabling in-depth analysis of network/service/customer performance and experience KPIs. This application can show KPI performance in two dimensions as well as failure code breakdown simultaneously, which is ideal for comparing performance and investigating root causes, pre- and post-event, such as when managing network configuration changes.

xSIGHT Diagnostics Application

The following diagram shows a detailed xSIGHT Diagnostics protocol transaction tracing display which the industry recognizes as a very powerful tool for diagnosing in-depth protocol transaction issues. Coupled with a Viavi-patented database indexing technology enabling a streamlined process, the xSIGHT Diagnostics application delivers the same protocol transaction tracing and decode functionality as traditional solutions, but at a fraction of the price and time.

Based on a flexible and highly scalable data collection engine, xSIGHT Mediation automatically determines what metrics are valuable and only processes the required data. xSIGHT Mediation also provides open application programming interfaces (API) for easy integration with external applications and B/OSSs.
