Two XBRL-projects:• Pilot waterboards (initiated by Semansys, Union of
Waterboards) • Implementation with municipalities and provinces:
close cooperation Statistics Netherlands and software vendors
XBRL for the local authorities
Participants: 16 waterboards in pilot
• Close cooperation with Semansys 30 municipalities now provide XBRL data
• Several software vendors (IBS, Decade, Procura, PinkRoccade, Coda)
Extensive contacts with various interest groups
Statistics Netherlands provided taxonomy, transport module, information meetings

Experiences:SN observed two implementation methods:
• Method 1– Implementation specifically aimed at the message
for SN (instance oriented): – easy implementation for software builder – problems anticipated with changing taxonomies,
validation and messages for other parties not possible
• Method 2 – Implemenation taxonomy oriented: ready for future
application/changes:- Implementation more complex – Easy to expand for future changes in taxonomy,
validation, quality controls
