In the wake of the AERONET activity the Task Group will focus on two key In the wake of the AERONET activity, the Task Group will focus on two key aspects:• Durable organisational structure: Practical recommendations will be made to ensure
durable cooperation between different European actors, allowing guidance from European Authorities including EASA and EUROCONTROL and strengthening the European position in the ICAO CAEP/9 process. The Task Group working schedule will be adjusted to allow for an implementation of its recommendations through a proposalbe adjusted to allow for an implementation of its recommendations through a proposal aimed at the FP7 Call 5.
• Common interdependency metric for aviation environmental impact: Options will bef th i d th t d t il d d ti b d ll i d di t dfurther reviewed so that detailed recommendations can be made, allowing a dedicatedresearch to be undertaken as the next step. Recommendations will also consider theissue of integrating the new metric into the common interdependencies modellingframeworkframework.
The Task Group will include experts involved in the field through several years of activity within AERONET, ECATS, QUANTIFY, ANCAT MITG and X-NOISE. y

Fixed-wing aircraft noise research effort considered as globally on track to meetthe ACARE 10dB target but will require several breakthrough achievements beforethe ACARE 10dB target, but will require several breakthrough achievements before 2016. Associated recommendations include:
1. Maintain significant effort in support of Noise Reduction Technologies generation 2 to reach TRL6, including active techniques and addressing integration issues such as weight,TRL6, including active techniques and addressing integration issues such as weight, performance and durability.
2. Maintain support to activities on Novel Architectures, with a particular focus on Low Noise Aircraft configurations as well as solutions aimed at offsetting anticipated noise i t f O R t i timpact of Open Rotor engine concepts
3. Ensure successful exploitation of Low Noise Operational Procedures as successfully investigated in FP5 and FP6
To ensure that the Management of Noise Impact contributor is effectively implemented the following recommendations must be made:
1. Consolidate European predictive capability to evaluate the impacts of aircraft and rotorcraft noise on communities, including environmental interdependencies
2. Support improved understanding and modelling of community impact and overall psycho acoustic annoyance.
3 Promote an harmonised policy framework on land use practices and mitigation options as3. Promote an harmonised policy framework on land use practices and mitigation options as well as develop clear indicators to assess progress made in their effective implementation.
