Life Long Learning
• Numer of those attending some kind of adult education has risen very fast in recent years.
• Upper secondary schools offer regular courses in evening classes and in distance learning.
• Universities offer a variety of learning opportunities which can be classified as adult education.
• Life long learning centres run in cooperation of municipalities, social partners and schools are spread over Iceland.
• The majority of employees have access to funds that pay for their education.
My occupation
• Director in housing for individuals with mental disabilities (Welfare department of Reykjavik city)
• Integration of individuals with mental disabilities into studies and labour market is a big concern for my field of work
• Also a part time teacher at the University of Iceland (qualitive methods)

My client´s
• Been out of the school system for many years and want to start their education again.
• Most of them have poor previous school background.
• Part of my work is to help them adapt in their new education and work.
• New strategies and ICT tools would therefore be very helpful for me in my working field.
