RULES FOR EXHIBITORSSome Changes For 2017: Please Read

1. Exhibitors must : A) Live in Hopwas Village B) Work in a garden or allotment based within the village

C) Belong to an organisation based in the village D) Be related to a member of the village

2. No limit to entries in any class unless specified under section header3. All exhibitors to complete and sign the entry form attached. One form per

exhibitor, no joint forms accepted, Entry forms are not needed for the children's classes, No entry forms accepted after 9:45am on the day of the show.

4. Staging- Saturday morning from 8:00am to 9:45am PROMPT5. No exhibit, or part of an exhibit may be removed before the Presentation of the

trophies at 3:30pm6. The judge's decision is final. Prizes will be withheld if insufficient entries are

received in any class, or exhibits are not worthy of first prize7. Entry fee is 25p for each exhibit, excluding children's classes8. All proceeds from the sale of produce goes to the Show’s funds9. Prize money will be paid out on the day of the show at 3:30pm approximately,

ONLY on presentation of prize cards10. Exhibitors' class labels will be issued by show stewards and must be displayed,

class number visable11. All exhibitors must provide their own equipment12. Exhibits may be re-sited by show stewards ONLY, exhibitors will be

disqualified for interference with other entries13. All exhibitors' personal property, is at exhibitors' own risk and the organisers

will not be responsible for any loss or damage14. All cups and trophies are perpetual and cannot be won outright

15. No exhibit awarded 1st

prize in any section in previous years can be exhibited again.

16. Any objection or protest must be made in writing before 2:30pm on the day of the show with a £1 deposit, to a member of the show committee

Our hosts, Coton & Hopwas Social Club, will be holding a hanging basket competition.

This will be held as a fringe event and will be judges prior to the show, with the prized awarded on the day of the show

RECIPE FOR RAISIN BREAD. (CLASS 40)

Ingredients: 140g / 5oz of All bran TIN: 1 lb loaf 140g / 5oz of Sultanas COOKING TIME: 15 to 30 minutes 140g / 5oz of Golden granulated sugar PLUS overnight soak 225ml of Milk (semi skimmed) TEMPERATURE: Gas 6/ 400F/ 200C 140g / 5oz of Self raising flour 1 teaspoon of Baking powder

Method: Mix together All bran, Sultanas, Sugar and Milk together in a bowl and Soak overnight. Add Self raising flour and Baking powder, mix well (this is a sticky cake mix) Pour into a 1LB loaf tin, lined with buttered greaseproof paper Bake at Gas mark 6 (400F/200C) for 15 to 30 minutes, OR until a skewer comes out clean

SECTION 3 – DOMESTIC

RECIPE FOR VICTORIA SPONGE ( CLASS 41)

Ingredients: 170g /6oz self raising flour TIN: 2x 7inch sandwich tin 170g /6oz sugar COOKING TIME: 30 minutes, 85g /3oz butter TEMPERATURE: Gas 3/ 325F/ 170C 85g/3oz margarine 3 eggs 1 teaspoon baking powder 3 drops of vanilla essence 2-3 tablespoons of raspberry jam

Method: grease and line two 7 inch sandwich tins in a stand mixer or with a electric hand held, cream together the butter, marg and sugar till

light and fluffy add the eggs and vanilla sift in the flour and baking powder, mix well till smooth and thoroughly combined

divide between the tins bake on the middle shelf for 30 mins at Gas 3 (325F/170C) till golden on top and a skewer

comes out clean cool in the tin for 1 minute, then remove and finish cooling sandwich the two cakes together using 2-3 tablespoons of raspberry jam, and dust the top

with icing sugar
