• Everyone has been bragging about how good they are.

• To find out who the best players are, everyone agrees to meet on Saturday to play. Strong teams are created and you think you have a strong team.

The Bet• Before you start playing, everyone discusses the idea of playing for money, but no one actually states an amount.

• Finally, you suggest playing for $100 and everyone agrees.

The Game• The game starts and you get off to an early lead. Your team is winning 10 to 0. After that the game is a stalemate. Neither side is able to gain points. In fact, you play for hours without another point being scored.

Team C Update• Amy and Henry twist their ankles. They are whining about how much it hurts. They whisper to you that they want to quit, but they will keep playing if you tell them to.

• The score is still 10 to 0.

Team A• 6 hours into the game Ulysses asks to join the game. He has been watching the game for several hours.

• As the game went on, you accidentally hit him with a couple of spikes that went out of bounds.

• He gets angry at you and joined the other team.

• Why is that bad?

Team A Update• The score is now 11 to 1. Rudy has been hit in the face several times by spikes. His nose is bleeding and he decides to quit.

• Will you let him quit?

• Will you make any conditions on his quitting?

• You make Rudy pay $20 to quit. He is actually getting off easy because you are winning.

Game Update• Ulysses says it is getting dark. He suggests that you stop playing. No winner will be declared and no money will be exchanged.

• The score is now 11 to 6.

• Terry’s mom is calling her to come home. Amy and Henry are still complaining. Ulysses still says that we should stop and declare no winner.

• The score is now 11 to 9.

• Terry, Amy, Henry, and Ben all leave you. The score is now 11 to 11.
